YOUTUBE VIDEO CONTEST WHO? Quad-City Teens ages 13-19 WHAT? Create a 3-5 minute video on the theme on any book related theme. Ideas include but are not limited to: turning your favorite pop hit into a song about you favorite book just by changing the lyrics; try to describe all the events in your favorite novel in two minutes or less, reenact your favorite scene from your favorite book in Minecraft. Just use your cell phone, your camera, or video camera to capture your imagination! You are not limited to these themes so be creative - use your family, friends, pets, or yourself to star in the video. Work alone or with a team of up to 5 people. Be spontaneous or be scripted. Just keep it fun and appropriate for library viewers. Then put on your red carpet clothes and come to the Premiere Party at the Putnam Museum in Davenport! NEED HELP? Need a video camera? Need to edit? Call your local library or school to see if a camera is available for use and if they have Windows Movie Maker editing program. You can always use your cell phone or digital camera video modes. Your librarian may even have training available on how to edit your videos. UPLOADING After the video is edited, please create an account at YouTube so you can upload it. All videos are subject to the YouTube terms of use found at www.youtube.com/t/terms After uploading, please return the attached entry form with a hardcopy of your video to your library with the title of your video, your name(s), phone number, and number of people attending the premiere. SPONSORED BY QUAD-CITY AREA LIBRARIES AND THE PRIZES Entries will be judged by area library staff. We will choose one video as the Library’s Choice and attendees at the Premiere Party will choose one as the Viewer’s Choice. Both will win $100 cash. Other awards will be given to the makers of the most creative, entertaining, and best quality videos. WHEN? Please have the videos uploaded to the YouTube and a hardcopy supplied to your librarian by Wednesday March 5th. Winners will be announced at the screening. All participants give their permission for the videos to be used by the libraries for promotion. THE PREMIERE PARTY! Participants and their friends can attend the free Premiere Party where we will show all the videos and eat pizza. The Premiere will be held at the Putnam Museum on Thursday, March 13th at 6pm. Like Hollywood movie premieres, be prepared to wear your red carpet clothing and answer questions from the press. Winners will be announced.
