June 21 - 26 About Community Restore: Community Restore is a non-profit organization designed to provide low-income homeowners of Williamson County with no-cost home repairs. Community Restore is operated as a coalition of area churches, the City of Georgetown, as well as many local businesses and individuals. In 2009, we wanted to organize a group of volunteers to help people in Georgetown Texas. Specifically, we wanted to work on the exterior of peoples’ homes that had a need but didn’t have the ability financially or physically. We focus one week a year to make exterior repairs on homes in our community. Work includes roofing, painting, siding, decks, ramps, window screens, replacing broken glass, removing trash, brush, and trimming trees. About our Volunteers: Volunteer’s ages range from 13 to 86 years old. Some volunteers have handyman skills, but the majority do not, just a heart to help. We have found the best roofers in the group are teenage girls, so come one, come all! Everyone is welcome and you are going to love working together on these projects! Some people are not able to give a full week, so they work what they can. We have Crew Chiefs that run each crew including our cooks. Everyone agrees that the kitchen crew is the most important — they feed up to 100 people breakfast and lunch all 5 days! No matter your age or experience we have a place for you! Our crews include: Roofing, Carpentry, Landscaping, Painting and Cooking What to Expect: We kick-off the week Sunday evening with Crew Meetings, Supper and a Worship Service. Monday through Friday we work on the homes we have been blessed to serve; you can expect to work on multiple homes in the community throughout the week. Breakfast and Lunch are provided each day, along with all the water and Gatorade you can imagine to keep you hydrated!
