Our Risen Lord is a compassionate and merciful One! In Matthew 9:13 Jesus says, “He desires mercy, not sacrifice. I did not come to call the righteous but sinners”. “For the sake of your sorrowful passion, Lord Jesus, have mercy on us and on the whole world!” Today’s gospel presents us with the story of the “doubting Thomas”; he refused to believe the testimony of the Apostles regarding the Resurrection of the Lord. Thomas was absent when Jesus first appeared to his disciples after His Resurrection. They reported to him, that they “had seen the Lord”; but he refused to believe them. He demands first-hand experience; “unless I see Jesus with my own eyes and touch his wounds with my own hands, I will not believe.” But when Jesus came for the second time; He shows him his hands and side, only then did he believe and declared his famous and memorable confession of faith: “MY LORD AND MY GOD”. My brothers and sisters, today’s story invites us to believe and rely on the testimony of other disciples who have seen the Lord. Amen!! Blessings! Fr. Jezu Granmèt la ki leve byen vivan anba lanmò-a se yon Bondye kè sansib. Nan levanjil Matye 9:13 Jezu deklare: Ale non, chache konprann sans pawòl sa yo ki nan Liv la: Mwen vle pou nou gen kè sansib. Mwen pa bezwen bèt n'ap ofri pou touye pou mwen yo. Paske, mwen pa vin rele moun k'ap mache dwat devan Bondye, men moun k'ap fè sa ki mal yo. Mèsi Granmèt pou konpasyon-Ou ak Kè sansib Ou! Nan levanjil jodi-a nap li istwa Toma-a ki te refize kwè lòt disip yo le yo di-l kè yo te wè Granmèt la apre Li te fi-n leve vivan anba lanmò. Toma te di yo si li pa wè ak 2 je-l epi mete men li nan mak klou yo pa gen jou lap kwè nan sa mesye yo tap di-a. Selon Toma fòk li wè konsa la kwè. Yon semèn apre Jezu te vi-n parèt nan mitan patizan-l yo e fwa sa-a Toma te la; Jezu envite-l pou-l vin mete dwèt li nan mak klou yo. Lè sa Toma mete ajenou e li te deklare byen fò: “GRANMÈT MWEN AK BONDYE MWEN”. Frè ak sè mwen yo, istwa Toma a ap envite-n pou-n pa fè menm jan ak Toma men pou nou kwè temwayaj lot patizan ki te wè Granmèt. Amèn!! Benediksyon! Luego dijo a Tomás: Acerca aquí tu dedo, y mira mis Jn 6:16-21 manos; extiende aquí tu mano y métela en mi costado; y no seas Domingo: Hch 3:13-15, 17-19; Sal incrédulo, sino creyente. Respondió Tomás y le dijo: ¡Señor mío y 4:2, 4, 7-9; 1 Jn 2:1-5a; Lc 24:35-48 Dios mío! (Juan 20:24-28). Mis hermanos, la experiencia de Tomás nos invita a no ser como él sino de creer en los testimonios de otros discípulos que han visto al Señor. Amen!! Bendiciones, P. Finneran, Frankie Stevens, Barbara Messier and Richard Schmeelk along with the Sacred Heart School children recreate their S.O.S pose from 5 years ago when the school almost closed. Lake Worth, Florida - March 13, 2015: The children of Sacred Heart School along with phyloanthropist William B. Finneran, Richard Schmeelk, Frankie Stevens, Father Quesnel Delvard, Barbara Messeir and Principal Candace Tamposi line up to form the shape of S.O.S. for an aerial photograph. Five years ago, Sacred Heart School faced some rough times and was on the verge of closing its doors. One of their children suggested that the school send out an SOS to the community to help us raise the money to stay open. Philanthropists such as Cathleen McFarlane Ross (deceased 2010), William B. Finneran, Frankie Stevens, the honorable Judge Rodney Eielson, Barbara Messier and Richard Schmeelk heard the call on the news and came to the rescue. Mr. Schmeelk a retired Navy man himself understood the SOS call. He came to visit the school and told them that they would not close. He then gathered a few of his friends from Palm Beach and formed the school’s Executive Board. Together, the School and the SHS Executive Board put on several fundraisers which helped save the school. (See YouTube: Sacred Heart S.O.S. Music Video - Save Our School! or Students send 'SOS' To Keep School Open). “Today SHS is stronger and we want to thank the community for helping us thrive by recreating the pose that started it all. Oh, by the way! The student that suggested we send out an SOS call is now in 8th grade! (See YouTube: Sacred Heart School stronger video (written by the Principal's daughter and SHS Alumni, Ali Tamposi). We want the community to know that we have full enrollment, the William B. Finneran Montessori Academy for early learning, a fully operational S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Lab and a sports program which includes Basketball, Soccer, Baseball and Softball. As a matter of fact our Boys Varsity Soccer team and Girls Varsity Basketball team won trophies this school year. Could you imagine what these children could do if they had a Gym they could practice in? You see the children at Sacred Heart School haven't (in 70 years) experienced a home game. Can you imagine that? We hope to change all of this by building the SHS Gymnatorium! HOME OF THE PANTHERS!” 561-793-0182 The school is working hard to meet their fundraising goal for the Gymnatorium project.
