April 19-Third Sunday of Easter –Luke 24:3548: Today’s Gospel passage from Luke tells another story of how the risen Jesus came to his friends, showing them he was alive. Jesus reassures them and surprises them over and over (because they wonder if they are seeing a ghost) by inviting them. Jesus tells them they are witnesses and must preach his resurrection. Are there people in your family, parish or neighborhood who are witnesses? Have you ever thanked them? Baptismal Class For first time parents will be held on Monday, May 11 at 7 pm in the school. Please call the rectory if you are planning on attending. SIGNS OF NEW LIFE AT CHURCH In the Church liturgical year, Easter is far more than just a one-day celebration. Easter is actually a seven-week season of the year called Eastertide. It begins at sundown the evening before Easter Sunday (the Easter Vigil) and lasts for six more Sundays until Pentecost. The readings on the Sundays of Easter focus on the Church as witness to the Resurrection. Signs of Christ’s new life fill the church during the glorious season!
