students continue to focus on their learning inside the classroom. “Have a go, try your best and

The first meeting for Creekside Markets will be held on

Kavney Hall. All interested parties welcome.
If you are interested in helping, or would just like to find
out more about the markets, please come along to the
meeting. We would love to see some new faces and
would welcome fresh ideas. We need coordinators for
each class level, so please don’t assume someone else
will do it.
If you would like to book a stall you can find the booking
form on the Dalby State School website
(www.dalbyss.eq.edu.au) or you can collect one from the
school office.
From The PBL Team.
Our Positive Behaviour Team has been working extremely hard this
term. Thank you to Mrs Bridget Prow who has taken on the
coordination role to ensure that our positive behaviour of learning
team continue to play an active role in supporting students’ behaviour
at Dalby state school.
So far this term the PBL team has

Endorsed the Dalby state school matrix, specifically focusing on
respect, safety and learning in all settings including the
classroom, play areas, sitting areas and stair wells. Our teachers
continue to reinforce specific prompt language each week and
this again reinforced at our whole parade.

Endorsed that students will need to achieve 75 dojos points at
the end of week 5 and rewards will be given on Friday 29th may,
supported by “Mr Whippy”. Students will receive a free ice cream from Mr Whippy if they have received 75 dojo points on
the classroom.

Continued to support the mantra of “No Hat, No Play”. It is
necessary for all students to wear their hat outside during play
time. Our school is a Sun Safe school and we continue to be
pro - active around sun safety. There are options given to
students who don’t have a hat such as stay underneath A block,
go to the library, or Kavney hall.

Supported the exciting initiative of “play is your way”, a
physically active social skilling program that is delivered by Mrs
Sankey to Year 1 - 3 students. This program enhances students’
ability to work in groups, improving self - esteem, building
resilient skills, determination, and self - control.

DALBY STATE SCHOOL CREED
“I am proud to be at Dalby State School. I will try my best to make the right choices
and will respect others, all property and myself. Ever Onward.”
Students thoroughly enjoyed a half hour touch footy session with visitor Terry McSweeny on the oval. Lots of laughs were
had and some pretty slick moves were practised during the fun activities.
National Day of Thanksgiving at Dalby State School
Dalby State School staff members were recently treated to a delicious morning tea organised by two local churches, St Joseph’s
Catholic Church and St John’s Anglican Church.
The morning tea was part of the National Day of Thanksgiving, an annual event that is supported by the Dalby Ministers’ Fraternal
Group.
Teachers and non-teaching staff enjoyed platters of delicious sweet and savoury goodies provided by Father Cooney, Reverend Tom
Bower and other volunteers to thank teachers and other staff for the great work they are doing at Dalby State School.
Class 1B and 1MC
performed “Ordinary
Dogs” at the Eisteddfod
today (27th May) and
proved that they are not

second overall. A huge
thank you to Mrs Bayles,

Cosgrove, Mr McPherson
and the students for all
