9160 How to change the Admin Password
In order to change the 9160's Access Point's admin password clustering must temporarily be
enabled.
! It is best to ensure that no other 9160 has clustering enabled prior to starting this procedure, or
the 9160 may inherit the other AP's configuration..
1. Enter the IP address of the 9160 in Internet Explorer when the Login Window appears,
Sign into the 9160 with the current username and password
2. Next Select the "Cluster" Tab from the Left Side Menu
3. Then click the JOIN CLUSTER Button
4. The summary screen will load, next click on "Basic Settings"
5. From this screen Scroll down in the browser to and locate PROVIDE NETWORK
SETTINGS this is where the password will be changed
6. Type in your Current Password and the new password in both the New Password and the
Confirm new password boxes. As a precaution under the "Configuration Policy for New
Access Points" drop down menu also select "are Ignored"
7. Next Click the UPDATE button. After the page reloads by selecting any option you will be
prompted for the new password, login with your new password.
8. Next Clustering should be disabled to do this select the "Access Points" tab under Cluster
on the Left side menu. Next select the check box next to the Access Points IP address to
remove.
9. Then click remove to complete removal of the 9160 from Clustering Mode
10. The password has now be successfully changed
Step through Procedure
