how to wear your uniform
cornerstone college
All students in Years 7-12 are required to wear the College uniform both at school and
while travelling to and from the College.
We believe the uniform encourages students to take pride in their appearance,
eliminates competition in what students wear, and that it is the most economical way to
outfit students for their life at the College.
All uniform clothing items are available from The Uniform Shop, The Homemaker Centre,
6 Dutton Road, Mount Barker, Phone: 8398 3983 or good quality second hand items are
available from the PT&F Second Hand Uniform Shop located on the College campus
(see website for opening times).
Bags and shoes are available from Fairley’s Shoex, 23 Gawler Street, Mount Barker,

When do you wear Summer/Winter Uniform?
(Years 8-12 only)
You wear summer uniform during Terms 1 and 4. *(see
below).
College Bag
Student Bag - navy bag with College logo. Choose from
Chiropak II or Trolley Bag II.
Sport Duffle Bag (optional) - navy bag with College logo.
You can wear winter uniform at any time during the year,
however, the winter uniform is compulsory for all of Terms
2 and 3.
Bags available from Fairley’s Shoex, Mount Barker and
Stirling.
*Students may wear their summer uniform the first two
weeks of Term 2 and the last two weeks of Term 3, if
25°C or above is forecast for Mt Barker on the previous
night’s 6.00pm news.
Sports Uniform
Year 7s wear their sports uniform all year round. (The
College jacket is compulsory to and from the College
in Terms 2 and 3 and for all formal occasions and
excursions).
Year 8-9s can wear their sports uniform to and from the
College on the days they have PE. (The College jacket is
compulsory to and from the College in Terms 2 and 3 and
for all formal occasions and excursions).
Year 10-12s are expected to change into and out of their
sports uniform for their PE lessons.
Formal Occasions and Excursions
Year 7
The College jacket is compulsory to and from the College
in Terms 2 and 3 and for all formal occasions and
excursions.
Years 8-12
Formal uniform is to be worn for all formal College
occasions and excursions.
Second-Hand Uniform
Good quality second hand items are available from
the PT&F Second Hand Uniform Shop located on the
College campus (see website for opening times) or
through The Uniform Shop, The Homemaker Centre,
6 Dutton Road, Mount Barker.
Shoes (Years 8-12 only)
Please note that only black leather lace-up school shoes,
with black laces are to be worn with both the summer and
winter uniform. Girls also have the option of wearing the
black leather Harrison Idaho style shoe.
College Hats (Compulsory
Terms 1 & 4)
All students must wear one of the
College hats for:
• all PE lessons
• when on organised College
events/activities
• when out in the yard
• all recess and lunch breaks.
Make-Up & Jewellery
Make-up is not to be worn to the College.
In regard to jewellery, students may wear:
• a watch of reasonable size and appearance
• a plain light chain or a light chain with a small cross,
around their neck
• a maximum of one earring, as below, in the lower lobe
of each ear
• plain silver or gold stud (max. 6mm diameter)
• plain silver or gold sleeper (max. 12mm diameter)
• clear diamante (max. 6mm diameter)
• white pearl (max. 6mm diameter)
Please note that chains with any emblems or items other
than a cross are not permitted, nor are any rings,
facial piercings, bangles or bracelets or adornments of
different material.
Hairstyles
General expectations:
• Hair should be neat and able to be combed
• Hair should not be extreme in style or colour so as to
draw attention to the student
• Students are to be clean-shaven
• Hair should be off the face at all times
• Hair shoulder length or longer is to be tied back at the
nape of the neck or in a ponytail or bun and secured
with a navy band or ribbon
• If using clips they must be hair coloured or navy.
