How to set up Microsoft Exchange e-mail on an Apple iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch: 1. Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account. 2. Tap Microsoft Exchange. 3. You don’t need to enter anything in the Domain box. Enter the information requested in the Email ([email protected]), Username ([email protected]), and Password (MVESC Tech Staff assigned PW) boxes. 4. Tap Next on the upper-right corner of the screen. Your iPhone will try to find the settings it needs to set up your account. Go to step 7 if your iPhone finds your settings. 5. If your iPhone can’t find your settings, you’ll need to manually look up your Exchange ActiveSync server name. For instructions for how to determine your Exchange ActiveSync server name, see the Finding My Server Name section below. 6. In the Server box, enter your server name (m.outlook.com), and then tap Next. 7. Choose the type of information you want to synchronize between your account and your device, and then touch Save. By default, Mail, Contacts, and Calendar information are synchronized. From the Applications menu, select Email. This application may be named Mail on some versions of Android. 2. Type your full e-mail address, for example [email protected], and the password you were assigned by MVESC tech staff, and then select Next. 3. Select Exchange account. This option may be named Exchange ActiveSync on some versions of Android. 4. Enter the following account information and select Next. Domain\Username Type your full e-mail address in this box. If Domain and Username are separate text boxes in your version of Android, leave the Domain box empty and type your full e-mail address in the Username box. Note: On some versions of Android, you need to use the domain\username format. For example, if your e-mail address is [email protected], type mvesc.org\[email protected] Your username is your full e-mail address. Password Use the password that you wre provided by MVESC tech staff to access your account. Exchange Server Use the address of your Exchange server. Use m.outlook.com 5. As soon as your phone verifies the server settings, the Account Options screen displays. The options available depend on the version of Android on your device. The options may include the following: Email checking frequency The default value is Automatic (push). When you select this option, e-mail messages will be sent to your phone as they arrive. We recommend only selecting this option if you have an unlimited data plan. Amount to synchronize This is the amount of mail you want to keep on your mobile phone. You can choose from several length options, including One day, Three days, and One week. Notify me when email arrives If you select this option, your mobile phone will notify you when you receive a new e-mail message. Sync contacts from this account If you select this option, your contacts will be synchronized between your phone and your account. 6. Select Next and then type a name for this account and the name you want displayed when you send e-mail to others. Select Done to complete the e-mail setup and start using your account. Tip: You may need to wait ten-to-fifteen minutes after you set up your account before you can send or receive e-mail. Page 2 Tim Deetz 740-452-4518 ext124 [email protected] How To Set Up Exchange ActiveSync E-Mail on Windows Phone These instructions are for devices running Windows Phone 7. How to I set up Exchange ActiveSync on Windows Phone: 1. On Start, flick left to the App list, tap Settings and then tap email + accounts. 2. Tap add an account > Outlook. 3. Enter your e-mail address ([email protected])and password (MVESC tech assigned PW) and tap sign in. Windows Phone will try to set up your e-mail account automatically. If setup completes successfully, skip to step 6. 4. If your e-mail account can't be configured automatically, tap Advanced Setup. You'll need to enter the following information: a. E-mail address This is your full e-mail access, for example [email protected] b. Password This is the password for your e-mail account assigned to you by MVESC tech staff. c. User name This is your full e-mail address, for example [email protected] d. Domain This is the part of your e-mail address after the @ sign, use - mvesc.org e. Server Use m.outlook.com for the server name f. Select the Server requires encrypted (SSL) connection box. 5. Tap sign in. 6. Press OK if Exchange ActiveSync asks you to enforce policies or set a password. Page 3 Tim Deetz 740-452-4518 ext124 [email protected] Set Up Exchange ActiveSync E-Mail on Windows Mobile 6.5 How to I set up Exchange ActiveSync on Windows Mobile 6.5? 1. Tap Start > Messaging > Setup E-mail. 2. Enter your e-mail address ([email protected]) and password (your MVESC Tech assigned PW), and then tap Next. 3. Make sure the check box Try to get e-mail settings automatically from the Internet is selected, and then tap Next. Your mobile phone will try to get settings from the Internet automatically. If this fails, tap Next. Otherwise go to step 8. 4. For Your e-mail provider, select Exchange server, and then tap Next twice. 5. Enter your e-mail address (for example, [email protected]) and then tap Next. 6. Tap in the Server box and enter your server (m.outlook.com) and then tap 7. Enter your user name and password, and then tap Next. Your user name is your complete e-mail address (for example, [email protected]) 8. Select the check boxes for the types of items you want to view on your device, and then tap Finish. Tap OK when Exchange ActiveSync asks you to enforce policies on your phone. Policies let you configure a password on your mobile phone and use a remote device wipe to clear all data from your mobile phone if the phone is lost or stolen. Page 4
