VSmart User Manual V3.0 How to make call with Google Voice without using browser VSmart enables user to dial Google Voice directly without using browser or other services. Before you start, make sure your IPKALL and Google Voice account has been properly set up: 1. A Google Voice account. If you don’t have a Google Voice account, sign up for Google Voice on Google.com. Fill out the application and submit it for approval. Once approved, you will receive a confirmation email from Google. Click on the link inside the email to set up your specific Google voice account. Enter your Gmail address and password. Select your phone number. 2. You can receive calls using VSmart from your IPKALL account. If you have problem for any of above item, please refer our document “How to Configure IPKALL on VSMart without a sip proxy”. Step 1 – Change DTMF settings to RFC 2833 Many people ran into problems with being able to verify IPkall number under Google Voice. In VSmart Setup, select DTMF Tx Method to RFC2833. It’s most reliable way for Google Voice verification. Our test has shown that “INFO” also works well. Step 2 – Adding your IPKALL number to Google Voice At this point, navigate to Options->Voice settings->phones in your Google Voice account and click “Add another phone”. -1© Copyright 2012 VocalSmart Inc. All Rights Reserved VSmart User Manual V3.0 Enter a name for this phone. It can be anything you want. Next enter your ipkall number with just the 10 digits as shown above (with or with spaces). The key thing to remember is to not put in the preceding 1 and you don’t need anything after the number itself. When you click Save, you’ll be prompted to verify your new phone. When you click Connect, your VSamrt phone should ring and you can click the “Call” button to accept the call. You’ll then be asked to enter your verification code. Click the buttons on the dial pad. If everything is configured correctly, you’ll hear a message indicating success and the call will hang up. -2© Copyright 2012 VocalSmart Inc. All Rights Reserved VSmart User Manual V3.0 The phone list on your browser should update and show your new phone entry. Step 3 – Turn off Call Screening You’ll need to turn off Call Screening. Find these on the Settings->Calls page and make sure it’s turned off. Step 4 – Make Google Voice call from web interface At this point you should be able to receive calls to your IPKALL number via VSmart and place calls from the Google Voice web interface that connect to your VSmart soft phone and then connect to the number you are calling. Step 5 – Make Google Voice call directly from VSmart 1. They much be exactly same as those in your Google Voice account, Phone to call with is your IPKALL number. • Click GV Call button. 2. Wait, it may take a few seconds to dial Google Voice call. • 3. If dial successful, you will receive call from Google Voice. 4. Click Call butter to accept the call. 5.
