Marian Movement of Prayer for Priests
More than ever today priests everywhere need our prayers to uphold the dignity and power of priesthood .
Priests are our shepherds, and the Catholic Church teaches us that they are “Living Instruments of Christ the Eternal Priest.”
Pope John Paul II described the priesthood as “a gift and mystery”. A cenacle of prayer for priests is held in the
Holy Spirit Chapel at 10:00am each Saturday morning with the exception of the 1st Saturday of the month.
Please come along and pray with us through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Enquiries: Lyn Thwaites on 9723 6020
DEFIBRILLATOR TRAINING
We have been gifted with this most valuable equipment by our parishioner and school secretary Julie Murphy and it is now installed on the back wall of the church.
Those interested are invited to attend a ½ hour training session in the Mary Bresnan Room of the Parish
House at 7pm on Thursday 16/10/14.
Please advise of your attendance – Tina 9876 3077.
HOLY SPIRIT FETE
A HUGE thank you to our very dedicated
fete committee (and their families) for the
outstanding work they have done to once
again provide our community with such a
wonderful day.
Thanks also to all of our fantastic
volunteers without whom the fete could not
operate.
We are a very fortunate community to have
so many who give so much.
Join us for this year's Walk Together!
Welcome to Australia (www.welcometoaustralia.org.au) is holding their annual Walk Together on Saturday
25th October 2014 and we would like to invite you and your friends to join us.
Welcome to Australia is a national not for profit organisation who exist to engage everyday Australians in the
task of cultivating a culture of welcome in our nation. We believe that cultural diversity should be celebrated
for the beauty and depth it adds to our society and that no matter who you are, where you’re from or how you
arrived, you’re a person who deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
One of the ways Welcome to Australia celebrates its core message of Welcome is to hold an annual Walk
Together where people from across the nation, and from various cultures and backgrounds join together in a
positive and uplifting event, spreading the message to all that "You are Welcome Here"
This year, Walk Together in Melbourne will be held on Saturday 25th October 2014 commencing at 12.30pm.
We will meet at the State Library and walk to Treasury Gardens where there will be entertainment and a panel of speakers. During the Walk, we invite all participants to fly their organisation's banners, wear traditional
costumes and play musical instruments. The focus on celebration and fun, and creating a positive atmosphere and mood!
