Loan Saver Is
a Money Saver
Let Us Be Your Little
Holiday Helper
Are you paying too much for
your loan? Is the interest rate too
high? Would you like to lower your
payment? We have the tool for you!
It’s called Loan Saver—an online
calculator that compares loans and
shows how much you could save by
refinancing your debt at DSPFCU.
You
won’t believe
how much that will be over the life
of your loan!
Ready to cut your payments?
Go to www.dspfcu.com and find
an item in the “Current News
& Promotions” section entitled
“Refinance Your Debt with
Loan Saver.” Then click
on the “Learn more” link
at the end, and you’ll
be on your way to lower
payments in no time!
Think of us as one of those little elves Santa
Claus has helping him out around his shop at
the North Pole. They help him get ready for
Christmas, and we’re here to help you get
ready for it, too, only in different ways.
The numbers are
upside down and spelled
out. If you find your
account number, please
call the Georgetown
branch at 800-288-1080
or 302-856-3501 by
October 31, 2014.

If you have a Holiday Club account, take note:
All the money you’ve saved in it will be deposited in your share savings account on
October 16. If you didn’t have a Holiday Club account this year, we encourage you to
open one for next year. After all, it can be pretty hard to come up with the money for
your Christmas shopping (and, for some folks, holiday travel expenses) all at once. Do
the smart thing and save for the big day all year long through our Holiday Club.
Need some additional
disposable income this
holiday season? Skip one month’s
loan payment. Here’s how:
1. Log onto home banking.
2. Select “Skip-a-Payment” from the left-hand menu.
3. Choose the loan you want to skip a payment on. (Payments
cannot be skipped on first mortgages, home equity loans or
credit cards.)
Perhaps you’ve never gotten a loan from us. In that case, do yourself
a favor and consult our loan department. A DSPFCU loan can be an
invaluable source of
income during the holiday
season or any other time of the year.

hidden in this newsletter, we’ll
deposit $15 into your share
savings account.
We don’t know where Santa goes
when he needs to borrow some money,
but we doubt his elves are any help
in that department. We, on the other
hand,
have
plenty of money to lend and at
reasonable rates. Our holiday loans are
available in amounts up to $2,500.

As they do every year on the third Thursday in October,
credit unions all over the world will celebrate
International Credit Union Day on October 16.
As that day approaches, we all might want to reflect on the cooperative principles
that have led to our credit union’s success. As a cooperative, DSPFCU’s owned and
controlled by our members—the people it serves. It exists for the benefit of no one but
you and your fellow members. Whatever profits it
makes go not
to some faraway stockholders but to you. You receive them in the form of dividends,
lower lending rates and fewer fees.

That’s a business model that some people once scoffed at. No one’s scoffing
anymore.
A growing number of people are beginning to appreciate the financial advantages of
credit union membership. In June credit union membership nationwide topped 100
million for the first time. One in every three Americans now belongs to a credit union.
Although banks certainly aren’t going away anytime soon, many people have soured
on them. And yearly national surveys have shown that, as Americans’ dissatisfaction
with banks has risen, their confidence in and satisfaction with the service they receive
from credit unions has grown. We hope you’re as happy with your credit union as
those survey respondents are. After all, you’re the reason we’re here.
