This division is a performance showcase opportunity for your team. No judge’s feedback or score sheets are provided. Each performance is limited to two minutes and thirty seconds (2:30). No more than one minute and thirty seconds (1:30) may be used for music section. Teams in this division will receive an AWARD OF EXCELLENCE for performing. COMPETITIVE CHEER: This division is scored for placement against other teams in a respective division. Each performance must include at least one cheer or sideline chant. The musical portion must not exceed one minute and thirty seconds (1:30). Total time limit is two minutes and thirty seconds (2:30). Timing will begin with the first movement, voice, or note of music, whichever comes first. Each team in our competitive cheer division will receive a placement trophy. ALL GIRL STUNT GROUP: This division is for female stunt groups only (up to 5 members per stunt group). The time limit of this division is one minute. There will be a junior high division and a senior high division. COED STUNT GROUP: This division is for male/female combination (up to 3 members per coed stunt group). The time limit of this division is one minute. There will be a junior high division and a senior high division. COMPETITIVE DIVISIONS: 7TH GRADE ONLY: Teams that are composed of only 7th grade students. 8TH GRADE ONLY: Teams that are composed of only 8th grade students. 9TH GRADE ONLY: Teams that are composed of only 9th grade students. JUNIOR: Teams that are composed of a combination of 7th, 8th, and/or 9th grade students. JUNIOR VARSITY: Teams that are composed of 9th-12th grade students. SENIOR ALL GIRL: Teams that have only female members and a combination of 9th-12th grade students. SENIOR COED: Teams that have male and female members and a combination of 9th – 12th grade students. *7th Grade, 8th Grade, 9th Grade, Junior, and Junior Varsity teams will NOT be separated into All Girl/Coed Divisions. **7th Grade, 8th Grade, 9th Grade, Junior, Junior Varsity, and Senior All Girl will be using the ALL GIRL SCORESHEET (the score sheet with a scoring section for dance). ***Senior Coed teams will be using the COED SCORESHEET (the score sheet a COED stunt score section and NO dance). ****If a minimal number of teams are registered for a certain division, we reserve the right to combine divisions at our discretion. AWARDS: Division Awards: Each team will receive a placement trophy. Specialty Awards: The judges will be choosing teams to receive specialty awards in the following categories: Top Jumps, Top Stunts, Top Tumbling, Top Pyramid, Top All Girl Dance, Top Coed Stunt, Crowd Pumping Cheer, and Creative Choreography. These awards are not necessarily given to the highest scoring team, but the judges favorite for each section. Spirit and Sportsmanship Award: This award will go to the team who shows the best spirit and sportsmanship for all teams in attendance at the competition. Grand Champion Awards: The highest scoring junior high, senior all girl, and senior coed team will receive the Grand Champion Award. JUDGES/SCORING SYSTEM: There will be three routine judges and two safety/deduction judges at each competition. The routine judges will be using the AAA Score Sheet. All teams will be using the same score sheet EXCEPT for senior coed teams. Senior Coed Teams will be using the COED score sheet that has scoring range for coed stunts and NO dance. All judges’ decisions are final. SAFETY/DEDUCTION INFORMATION: Time Limitations: Each performance must not exceed two minutes and thirty seconds (2:30). Timing will begin with the first movement, voice, or note of music, whichever comes first. If a team exceeds the time limit, a penalty will be assessed for each violation. Three (3) point deduction for 1 – 5 seconds over, Five (5) point deduction for 6 – 10 seconds over and Seven (7) point deduction for 11 seconds and over. Acknowledging the potential variance caused by human reaction speed and sound system time variations, judges will not issue a deduction until their stopwatches show a time of 2:33. Competition Performance Area: Approximate floor size will be 54 feet wide by 42 feet deep (9 strips of cheer floor/non-spring). Any team member stepping outside or touching outside of the performance area with a full step/hand/body part will cause the squad to receive a 0.5 penalty per occurrence. Safety Violations: Any team in violation of the NFHS Cheerleading Rules and Regulations will be assessed a ten point (10) deduction for each violation. *All Deductions/penalties are taken off of the total combined score BEFORE the final average is taken. SANCTIONING & RULES: THIS EVENT IS SANCTIONED BY THE ARKANSAS ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION (AAA). NFHS RULES WILL BE FOLLOWED. ADMISSION: $5 PER PERSON (STUDENTS AND ADULTS). 2 AND UNDER ARE FREE. AAA PASSES WILL BE HONORED WITH PHOTO IDENTIFICATION. CONCESSIONS: NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK. CONCESSIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON SITE. EVENT T-SHIRTS & MERCHANDISE: T-SHIRTS AND MERCHANDISE WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE ON SITE.
