“We Plough the Fields and Scatter”
(Children, please come forward during the third verse.)
* PRAYER OF DEDICATION (unison):
Merciful God, we come this morning, striving to keep our
minds and hearts focused on the things that matter: the things
that are honourable and pure and worthy of our relationship
with you. Yet the world calls us away, breaks our focus, and
points us toward war and conflicts, financial uncertainty, and
hurtful deeds by some that seem to be rewarded, not punished.
As we present our tithes and offerings to you this morning,
remind us that keeping our minds focused on you will lead to
ways of living that bring you praise. Remind us also that
getting our actions in harmony with your compassion can lead
our minds and hearts to a place that brings you joy and
thanksgiving. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
-3SCRIPTURE LESSON
Reader: Wib Dawson
Luke 17:11-19 Ten lepers healed; one returns to offer thanks.
SUNG RESPONSE: “Now Thank We All Our God”
#236 VU
Now thank we all our God, with heart, and hands, and voices,
who wondrous things has done, in whom this world rejoices;
who from our mother’s arms has blessed us on our way
with countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.
THE MESSAGE: “Giving Thanks”
-4Ever-present God, fill this house and the rooms we have
dedicated in Christ’s name, through the power of your Holy
Spirit, that they may be a sanctuary and holy space for all
people; a place of strength for the weak, a place where the
ways of truth are taught and learned, a place where fellowship
is shared and new friends are made, a place where the mission
of the church is supported, a place where prayer is fulfilled
according to your will. Bless us and fill us with the knowledge
of your love; through Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Rev. Sheila Macgregor
WE GO OUT TO SHARE GOD’S LOVE WITH OTHERS

generous gift of land given by Joseph O’Brien for the
establishment of a church in this area. We give thanks also for his
descendants who continue to worship here and for their aunt Mabel
Sproule who donated the land on which the current Siloam
building stands. Henceforth this room shall be known as the
O’Brien-Sproule Library-Chapel; in the name of Jesus Christ our

* SUNG RESPONSE:

“We Shall Go Out With Hope of Resurrection”(verse 2 only)
We’ll give a voice to those who have not spoken;
we’ll find the words for those whose lips are sealed;
we’ll make the tunes for those who sing no longer,
expressive love alive in every heart.
We’ll share our joy with those who still are weeping,
raise hymns of strength for hearts that break in grief,
we’ll leap and dance the resurrection story,
including all in circles of our love.
