Mary's catholic church. he was an army veteran of World War ii. bob was in the infantry where he received the victory Medal, eastern Theater ribbon with two bronze battle stars, two Overseas service bars and the army of occupied germany Medal. he was a member and past commander of vFW post # 1668. he had 60 years of service with the american legion post 359 and received the distinguished legionnaire award presented by the department of Missouri american legion. he served recOrd post commander, district as commander, district service Officer, executive board, chairman of the Oratorical contests, Treasurer of bingo, member of Joint veterans assn., and a past leader of the Missouri Funeral honors Team. he worked at armour & co. for 34 years. bob was a boy scout Troop leader and member of the Tribe of Mic-O-say. he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, attending sporting events of his children and grandchildren, was an avid reader. he was a member of st. Joseph, died Thursday, October 2 2014 at a local healthcare facility. he was born October 12, 1924 to edward and annabelle (delfs) blakeley, sr. in lost springs, Ks. ed married betty beaven on February 6, 1949. she survives of the home. he proudly served in the u.s. Marine corps during World War ii. he worked his entire career at st. Joseph light & power company from line department to vice president of administration. he was most proud of his ability to get along with both union and management during negotiations.
