Innovation Station Grand Opening!
All are invited to attend the Grand Opening Celebration of the Levittown Public Library’s
Innovation Station on Saturday, October 18. Festivities begin at 10:00 a.m. with a Ribbon Cutting
Ceremony. Experience this new makerspace where people can gather to create, share, connect
and learn by doing. The Innovation Station features a 3-D printer, iMac computers, a sewing machine,
embroidery machine, and do-it-yourself items. Visit the library or our website this Fall for further details.

Thursday, September 18, at 9:00 a.m. for LUFSD residents.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time to
complete the required forms. There is no out of pocket expense
for the immunization for any senior citizen, 60 years of age and
older, and their spouse, or care giver of any age. Please bring
proper identification, your Medicare card, or other primary
insurance card. It is not necessary to have insurance to receive a
free flu shot. The pneumonia shot will also be available. Shots
will be given to anyone not pre-registered or who miss an
appointment time based on availability of vaccine and available
time slots. Pre-registered patrons will be taken first.
Adult Programs
Library Bus Trips:
The first night of ticket sales will take place in one of the library
meeting rooms and a Levittown School District resident must be
present to purchase tickets. Proof of residency is required. Limited
tickets per patron. Any remaining tickets will be on sale at the
Reference Desk for LUFSD residents for one week following start
date, then non-residents may purchase tickets. Non-refundable
payment is due at the time of registration. Money order or check
accepted (no cash), made payable to the Levittown Public Library.
Visit the library to pick up a flyer with further details for each trip.
Please note that all bus trips are subject to a minimum registration.
Trip itineraries may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an
adult. Bus-trip participants must be at the designated point of departure at the appointed time. The bus will not wait for latecomers.

Fall Storytimes
Space permitting, non-residents may register one day prior to storytimes' beginning. Parent's library card and child's birth certificate are needed for

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Registration is ongoing for families with children who
have not yet started kindergarten.
This ongoing program is designed to
encourage reading together. Simply read
together with your young child and keep
track of what you are reading. We’ll have
stickers, bookmarks and a few surprises
along the way to 1,000 books before your
child starts kindergarten.

Parent's library card and child's birth certificate are needed for
registration. Parents may register by phone (731-5728, extension
500), but preference will be given to on-site registrants.
If registration is by phone, parents must come to the library before
their child's first workshop session and present their library card and
child's birth certificate to pick up the confirming registration letter.
This program will provide a setting in which you and your child can
learn and play together, introduce you to specialists and community
resource individuals who will provide you with information on the
different aspects of parenting and early childhood, and promote
family literacy.

Union Free School District patrons free passes to the

Aviation Museum, Long Island Children’s Museum, Nassau
County Firefighters Museum, Old Westbury Gardens.
The Reference Department- Clark Botanic Garden, Garvies
Point Museum and Preserve, Heckscher Museum of Art, New
York Historical Society Museum & Library, Nassau County
Museum of Art, The Long Island Museum, The Intrepid Sea,
Air & Space Museum, The New York Botanical Garden
The passes may be borrowed and returned to the Department.

for 14 day check-out at the Circulation Desk. Borrowers must
be Levittown cardholders and at least 18 years of age.

The Library Newsletter
Levittown residents who want the newsletter mailed to them can sign
up at the Circulation Desk. A limited number of printed newsletters are
available in the library. The newsletter can also be accessed on-line
on the library’s website. Featured is EventKeeper, an on-going
calender of events that are happening at the library. It will also list
program changes, cancellations, and library closings.
You may also contact the library by phone to verify that there are no
program changes due to misprints or unforeseen circumstances.

AARP Driver Safety Program
The Library provides a location for the program to be offered once or
twice a month. Fee: $20.00 for AARP Members; $25.00 for nonmembers, (check or money order).
Empire Safety Council Defensive Driving
The Library provides a location for the program to be offered
monthly to licensed drivers. Fee: $35.00 (check or money order).
Adult Game Club
Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Meeting Rooms 1 & 2
There are tables available to meet and play cards, checkers, mahjong,
and any other table game for fun. No registration required.
Live Homework Help--Via Internet
Free online help from tutors is available (from library or home) for
students in grades K to 12 (and college intro) from 2:00 to 10:00 p.m.
