IMS is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring a strategic, integrated, consistent and systematic approach to information management, including knowledge, records and data, to ensure the Australian Sports Commission and its partner organisations have access to the well understood, defined and consistent information capital that they require to deliver on their strategic outcomes. Primary Job Purpose Canberra Manage and develop the Commission’s online resources to deliver ongoing strategic benefits to Australian sport through effective online servicing, communication, workflow and policy coordination. 1. In consultation with team managers, implement the organisational Job strategic agenda to achieve section and business outcomes. This Responsibilities includes: Provide leadership to Commission employees and clients on matters relating to web information management and ensure that the Commission maintains a leading role in the provision of sport information within Australia and overseas – including content dissemination, information architecture, technical solution development, quality assurance, and corporate representation. Manage and maintain the day-to-day operation of the Commission’s internet, intranet and extranet websites, proactively seeking opportunities to develop these resources and contribute to the development of corporate policy and workflow. 2. Assist in the development and implementation of policies, guidelines and other resources that deliver business outcomes for the ASC. 3. Within established policy parameters, provide overall management responsibility for the Section, ensuring high level judgement, decision making and advice to deliver effective people management that motivates employees and optimises both individual and team performance. 4. Actively promote and role model the ASC values of Excellence, Integrity, Respect and Teamwork, and contribute to positive organisational change, effective communication, and continuous improvement at the ASC. 5. Work collaboratively as part of a high performing team/organisation, establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with key internal and/or external stakeholders to lead and deliver high quality business outcomes. 6. JOB HOLDER CAPABILITIES Qualifications and Experience Knowledge and Skills Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in information management, information technology, or related field Experience in an Australian Government web environment is preferred Demonstrated record of providing leadership and management to achieve high personal and team performance and meet organisational and business objectives. Demonstrated capacity to provide timely, compelling and concise advice to inform senior management to support decision making. Demonstrated experience in risk management and business planning. Experience delivering cultural change through influence and using innovative techniques. Demonstrated strategic thinking skills, including the ability to: o Analyse and identify issues and organisation-wide implications and propose solutions; and o Harness information, identify gaps and assess the value of information to identify and develop opportunities with internal and external partners. Sound knowledge of Government online requirements and standards Good working knowledge of web programming, multimedia and development, and information technology Sound communication skills (including interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and representation) and a proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally with Personal Attributes a diverse range of stakeholders. Demonstrated business acumen, planning and management skills and the ability to identify and achieve work objectives within an often fast-moving environment. Demonstrated commitment, drive and initiative to achieve program and organisational outcomes, with the ability to work as a member of a team and an individual (as required) providing productive leadership and management.
