It will directly link schools with sporting clubs to drive ongoing participation, and encourage good health through sport. We have exciting roles available for qualified, motivated and enthusiastic individuals to support rural and regional communities to positively influence their involvement in Sporting Schools and the growth of participation in sport. To be successful in this role, you will have: Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in community engagement and development, preferably within rural and regional settings Experience in delivering cultural change through influence and using innovative techniques Well-developed communication skills (including interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and representation) and a proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally with a diverse range of stakeholders. This includes the introduction and ongoing delivery of the Sporting Schools program as a centre point of that strategy. Primary Job Purpose Support rural and regional communities, ultimately managing key community relationships within them that will positively influence their continuing involvement in Sporting Schools and subsequently the overall outcomes of the program. 1. Job Responsibilities Under the guidance of the Project Advisers implement the organisational strategic agenda to achieve section and business outcomes. This includes: Working directly within rural and regional communities (including remote indigenous) to engage them in the delivery of sport based activities through Sporting Schools in their community schools Supporting key community, support and elder groups to positively influence the content of Sporting Schools and its quality delivery over time Contributing to the development, delivery and profiling of pilot projects that will respond to needs identified by the rural and remote communities involved with Contributing to the evaluation of delivered projects and offering constructive feedback to all groups to continuously improve Sporting Schools 2. Provide advice, input and support to Sporting Schools regarding the changing needs of rural and regional communities through knowledge gained via direct feedback with community groups and through regional networks 3. Actively promote and role model the ASC values of Excellence, Integrity, Respect and Teamwork, and contribute to positive organisational change, effective communication, and continuous improvement at the ASC. 4. Work collaboratively as part of a high performing team/organisation, establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with key internal and/or external stakeholders to deliver high quality business outcomes. JOB HOLDER CAPABILITIES Qualifications and Experience Knowledge and Skills Personal Attributes Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in community engagement, community development specifically within rural and regional settings Demonstrated capacity to provide timely, compelling and concise advice to inform executive members and senior management to support decision making. Experience delivering cultural change through influence and using innovative techniques. Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to: o Identify issues and program implications and propose solutions; and o Harness information, identify gaps and assess the value of information to identify and develop opportunities with internal and external partners. Well-developed communication skills (including interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and representation) and a proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally with a diverse range of stakeholders. Demonstrated commitment, drive and initiative to achieve program and organisational outcomes, with the ability to work as a member of a team and an individual (as required) Demonstrated capacity to cooperate and work well with others in a cross-functional environment to pursue team goals, share information, support others, show consideration and respect for alternate ideas and solutions. Note: The ability to obtain (and maintain) clearance/s to work with children is an essential component of this role and continued employment.
