The Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP) is a Higher Education Institution and Registered Training

Introduction to the role
The role of Lecturer (Level B) is to: (1) develop and teach a range of undergraduate and Honours-level subjects
within the School of Psychological Sciences programs; (2) supervise student research projects; (3) conduct a
program of research; (4) contribute to administrative activities within the School. This position reports to the Head
of School of Psychological Sciences.
Essential Skills & Experience











PhD in psychology
Eligibility for membership of the Australian Psychological Society
Demonstrated ability to teach in higher education settings in an area relevant to psychology
Demonstrated ability to develop teaching materials and coordinate units of study
Demonstrated ability to conduct research leading to publications in high quality, peer reviewed journals
Ability to supervise student research (Honours and postgraduate level)
Capacity to undertake leadership roles
Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to engage students in the learning process
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
Demonstrated computer literacy including competence in using word processing, spreadsheet and
statistical analysis software
Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety policies of relevance to the work environment
Desirable Skills & Experience

Demonstrated ability to attract external research funding

Ability to contribute to other areas of teaching within the School of Psychological Science

Administrative experience linked to teaching and research

Ability to develop links with external public and private sector organizations

Experience with mixed modes of program delivery including online delivery

Experience of teaching at the postgraduate level

Experience in research methods including research design and analysis using SPSS software.
