POSITION VACANT: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
SELECTION CRITERIA
Please provide a statement which attests to your ability and/or experience on each of the criteria
listed below:

Experience in advising and reporting to a Board of professionals; knowledge of corporate
governance and an understanding of the role of Company Secretary for a company limited by
guarantee
o
Experience in leading a management team of professionals and understanding of industrial
awards and legislation which impact on employment
o
Knowledge of AMA (ACT) Limited and its strategic objectives and experience in delivering on
strategic goals in a not-for-profit membership based organisation; demonstrated ability to
empathise with the raison d’etre of the association
o
Experience in coordinating committees and fora which provide advice to or report to the Board
o
Demonstrated ability or experience in contract negotiations or reviews for professional
member groups in remuneration and/or benefits
o
Ability to and experience in understanding budgets, financial statements and working within
budget
o
Experience in managing incoming producing assets
o
Experience in membership recruitment and retention objectives; including development of
corporate partnerships and membership services and benefits
o
Demonstrated good communication skills – written and verbal – and experience in building and
maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
o
Experience in producing periodical and occasional publications; notably a monthly publication
for members and the wider community
o
Experience in and ability to prepare statements for the medical and mainstream media
o
Experience in writing submissions and reports on behalf of the Board on diverse matters of
interest and/concern
o
Demonstrated commitment to honesty and personal integrity, courtesy and tolerance
