The Saint Francis Hospital and Medical
Center Department of Surgery is proud
to present the 10th Annual Trauma
Symposium. This year’s program,
Weathering the Storm: Trauma in
Austere Environments, will examine
challenges presented in extreme
conditions. We will go from the coldest
New England winters to the deserts
of the Middle East. All disciplines will
find helpful information on current
trauma guidelines and care.

a means of understanding current methods.
Explain how historical transport is a road map
for the future
2. Identify specific safety hazards associated with
trauma care in the field. Describe appropriate
methods to avoid and handle the provider as
the victim.
