Junior Jacaranda Queen Entrants
Once again the excellent efforts and
community participation from students of
South Grafton High School are being
demonstrated with the Junior Jacaranda
Queen entrants. There are eight entrants.
Six of these are from South Grafton High
school. The best wishes of the school
must go to Charlotte Sommer, Megan
Tillman, Erica Tillman, Maeve Grant,
Bonita Reynolds and Tiarna Woodward.
Congratulations to Lucy Heathcote
Congratulations to Lucy Heathcote of Year
11. Lucy auditioned and was successful in
gaining entry into the State Drama
Ensemble. This elite group spent part of
the last school holidays workshopping and
rehearsing for the State Drama Festival.
Relieving Principal: Mr Greg Court
Lucy travelled to Sydney again on
Wednesday and rehearsed; Thursday and
Friday, she performed at the Seymour
Centre in Surry Hills, presenting a very
contemporary and moving play with the
ensemble. Well done, Lucy!
Year 11 Parent Teacher Night
Year 11 students have recently completed
their Preliminary Course for 2014. They
will now progress into the HSC course and
I wish them all the best with their
endeavours towards achieving the Higher
School Certificate. There will be a parent
teacher night for Year 11 students to be
held on Tuesday evening 28 October. As is
the normal procedure booking for this will
be online.
School Uniform at our School
Our school has a simple but serviceable
school uniform. It is supported by the P&C,
SRC and school as a whole. The policy for
students wearing shoes in NSW schools is
for sturdy leather uppers, which is largely
based on safety. The requirement at this
school is black leather shoes. There are a
range of shoes on the market that meet
this requirement and in many cases, are
no more expensive than the many other
types of shoes currently being worn. The
wearing of school uniform is recorded
each period when teachers mark the roll.
Other points to note: A reminder to visit
the School’s Facebook page to stay in
touch with all the activities and up to date
information about the school.

Online application for Year 7 entry to
