The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.

He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever;

he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.

For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;

as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins

“Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 As he
began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold was brought to him. 25 Since he was not
able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the
debt. 26 “At this the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back
everything.’ 27 The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go. 28 “But when that
servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins. He grabbed him
and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded. 29 “His fellow servant fell to his knees
and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’ 30 “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had
the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they
were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened. 32 “Then the master called the
servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to.
33
Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ 34 In anger his master handed
him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. 35 “This is how my heavenly Father
will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.” Matthew 18:21-35

p.m. for Snack Supper followed by Bible Study at 7:00 p.m.

responsible for Snack Supper.
BUSCH GARDENS TRIP
Busch Gardens Trip is THIS Friday, October 24th. We will
leave at 6:00 a.m. (bring breakfast) and return around
midnight. Call Tommy to sign up.
YOUTH FUND RAISER AUCTION
DATE: FEBRUARY 28, 2015
Getting ready for another SUPER auction to
raise funds for the Youth Mission events
coming up Summer of 2015!!! We are now
taking donations (services from businesses,
beach or mountain houses, antiques, etc.).
Please note that all donations given this year
can be a tax deduction for 2014.

SUPER SENIOR FEST
The Kennedy Home in Kinston will host a Super Senior Fest
on Thursday, November 6, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
You will enjoy live entertainment, breakout sessions and lunch
(Cost for lunch is $9.00). The event features Dr. Michael
Blackwell, the Rick Webb Family Gospel Quartet and a tour
of Kennedy Home’s Cedar Dell Mansion.

CAN YOU HELP
The Johnston Baptist Association is asking for donations of 23.5 oz deodorants for their Christmas Red Box project. You
may leave your donations in the designated box in the church
office. Deadline is October 30th. Their goal is 750.
COMMUNITY MEMORIAL SERVICE
The Spiritual Care Services of Johnston Health, along with the
SECU Hospice House & Johnston Home Care & Hospice, is
hosting their annual Community Memorial Service Sunday,
November 2, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at the Johnston County
Agricultural Center. FBC Flute Ensemble will be participating
in this service.
HIGH ATTENDANCE
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 2!
Spiritual formation is vital to the life of a
disciple. Sunday School can be a setting where
formation takes place. Discuss in your class
how you can re-connect with those who have
not participated in SS. Be intentional to invite
visitors to your class. Set a goal for attendance
on Nov. 2. Fill out your goal sheet on your
clipboard. Remember, growing in your faith is not optional,
it’s vital.
BUTTER BRAIDS, POINSETTIAS
AND SPIRIT NIGHTS
Butter Braid samples will be coming to your SS classes
Sunday morning … so look for them, enjoy them, and most
importantly… ORDER THEM!!! Order forms are on your
clipboards. Please add your order and attach your check
payable to FBC. (They are great Thanksgiving morning while
your Turkey is cooking, Christmas morning, or anytime! They
also make great Christmas presents for neighbors and friends!)
The last day to order is Sunday, 11/9, and orders will be
delivered to the church fellowship hall on Tuesday, 11/25,
between 4:30-6:30pm.
The Relay Team will also be selling Poinsettias for the
Holidays. Look for those forms on your SS clipboards too.
Red, White, Pink and Glitter will be options for sale. They
will come in 6 ½ inch pots w/ foil and bows, and the cost is
$14. The last day to order Poinsettias will be Sunday, 11/16,
and they will be ready for pick up Saturday, 12/6 at the
Ministry Center, between 8-10am. If you buy one for the
holidays for your home, or for friends and family please buy it
from us!!! Payment is due at time of order, so please clip your
checks to the order sheet.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOE BOXES
We are planning to pack 300 shoeboxes as part of Samaritan’s
Purse Operation Christmas Child this year! The shoeboxes
will be sent to children in poverty stricken countries to help
pave the way for others to come in and continue to share the
love of Christ! Each Sunday School Class will find specific
items on their clip board that we’d like for their class to help
with. Other items that are needed are: Toothbrushes, Bubble
gum, Candy, Small Flashlights, Small toys, and Washcloths.
Donations to help send the boxes overseas (each box costs $7)
We will welcome any small gift items (no liquids or weapon
toys please). If you are unable to shop and would like us to do
it for you please make checks payable to FBC and note
Operation Christmas Child on the bottom! Come join us for
our packing party on November 8th at 10:30 in the
Ministry Center! There will be something for all ages to help
with! Most importantly please pray for the children that will
receive these boxes and for the missionaries coming behind the
box to share Christ’s love with them!

JBA ANNUAL MEETING
The Johnston Baptist Associational meeting will be Tuesday,
October 28, 2014, at Parrish Memorial Church. Supper is at
6:00 p.m., meeting at 7:00 p.m. If you would like to be a
Messenger, please call the church office.
THANKSGIVING DINNER
Each year our church reaches out to
the
community
to
provide
Thanksgiving meals for those who
would otherwise not have a hot meal
on Thanksgiving Day. We are in the
process of gathering all of the
necessary food items and manual help
needed to make this mission come
together. If you can help in any way,
