The symbol, which can vary by Nation, usually contains a circle and four cardinal points that represent the four directions – east, west, north and south. The Medicine Wheel can be used to integrate First Nations, Metis, and Inuit perspectives across the curriculum, from art to science. This workshop will explore different methods and lesson plans using the Medicine Wheel as a way to teach Aboriginal ways of knowing. After a discussion of appropriate ways to raise the sacred teachings in class, the workshop will lead participants through a series of activities based on this significant Aboriginal symbol. We are offering you this same course including the handbook, certificate on completion of the course, and lunch for $30.
