It has been another exciting week at Dalby South. Last weekend three touch football teams took part in the Queensland All Schools touch carnival. Even though our teams did not make the grand finals they all did an amazing job competing as part of some very fierce competition. Our teams never gave up and certainly learnt a great deal from the experience. They were well supported by a huge number of parents and supporters who braved the extremely windy conditions to cheer them on. I am very IS YOUR CHILD MOVING FROM DALBY SOUTH NEXT YEAR? PLEASE LET US KNOW AT THE OFFICE OR PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL TO [email protected] Term 4 Week 5 2014 appreciative of our parent coaches who helped prepare our teams for the event together with Miss Moore, Miss Ackery and Ms White who coached and organized the teams for both touch football carnivals. Yesterday I met with a range of people at the Council Chambers about our ongoing quest for Traffic Lights on Owen and Drayton St. I took the opportunity to once again state our case for traffic lights prior to a set of public information workshops that are scheduled for next week. On Wednesday 13 November at BMO 6-7pm the Eastern Access plan will be discussed, then from 7-8pm the Western Access plan will be shared with those present. I believe that residents and businesses along Drayton St have received a copy of the proposed road upgrades. If you would like to know more about the road upgrade then the display and information session at BMO will be able to answer all your questions. Our school will certainly be present at this information session and we would be pleased to see any other interested residents present also. This Friday we are being visited by the National Rodeo Queen and two Runners Up who will be in Dalby for the National Pro Rodeo Finals being held this weekend. These visitors will be sharing with students what they have to do in this role and explaining more about their upcoming trip to Calgary in Canada where they will represent Australia. It will certainly be a very big weekend of Rodeo in Dalby which I am sure many residents and members of our school community will enjoy. Finally don’t forget our Performing Arts night next Thursday the 13th of November. Our Choirs and bands will all be performing in a great night of entertainment being held at Dalby State High School Performing Arts Centre from 6.30pm. I hope that you will join us at that time. Kind regards Dave, Kate, Paul & Joel SCHOOLWIDE POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT This week in our weekly Schoolwide Positive Behaviour Support lessons we are focussing on the topic: Be responsible: be a problem solver.
