We opened our building to many wonderful residents on November 1, 2009. To celebrate this anniversary, we invite you all to celebrate with us on November 6, 2014 from 2-4 pm. Refreshments will be served, there will be activities going on through out the community and music for your entertainment. Please come help us celebrate this memorable event. Bring your friends and family and spend the afternoon with us. Kindermusik Village begins in February. Register today! class for children ages 18 months and under. The children will be paired with a resident, that will partner with them during the class. Kindermusik classes offer child development through music and movement, immersing your child in a musical atmosphere of play, song and dance. Sign up today for a free demo class on November 6. The students sang songs and then our choir members sang a few for them. Afterwards, they read and colored pictures. Alzheimer's Team Morning Pointe Morning Pointe turned out big for the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's, pulling together friends, families, staff and volunteers from four different communities. Overall, Morning Pointe landed in 1st place for top fundraising. Megan Waters Vivian Smithson and new friend, Laila Bell something that needs attention, she fixes it right away. She always seems to be two steps ahead." Another resident says Megan "helps any time I need her and once even stayed past her shift to make sure I was feeling better." Great job Megan! Exceeding Expectations 3rd Quarter Winner Happy Thanksgiving Megan Waters, second shift RA, is our EE winner for the 3rd quarter of 2014. Megan was nominated by several residents saying that she is always efficient and always has a smile. One resident states, "when Megan sees Congratulations Megan for Exceeding Expectations! Visitors Kay Tornow Wedding Day June 14, 1952 Kay and Roger married for 61 years Kay Tornow was born on March 28, 1932 in Appleton, Wisconsin, where she grew up. While in junior high school, she was a cheerleader and was a member of the Junior Golf Club at Butts des Morts Country Club. She also took piano for years. When she entered high school, she took modern dance, and was the Modern Dance Club president from 1949-1950. When Kay went to college at Lawrence College, later changing to Lawrence University. She was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority and was Red Cross certified and taught swimming lessons. Kay married Roger Tornow on June 14, 1952. They had three sons; Scot, Blaine and Todd. They eventually moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Kay and Roger were both members of the Milwaukee Choristers. This chorus, one of Milwaukee’s most versatile and popular vocal groups for 80 years, is made up of the best. For 27 years, they always made the performance choir, even though Kay says “it was very nerve wracking, auditioning." During the 70’s and 80’s, Kay was president twice of a Stock Club, learning through investing, which later became part of the NAIC. She was also a Unit Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America and received the District Award of Merit. After Roger retired they moved and built a home in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Later, Kay became a water aerobics instructor and taught for several years. Kay and Roger did a lot of traveling. She will tell you, “We were never home.” One of Kay’s favorite memories was traveling to Italy and seeing the ruins in Rome. The Model A Club visited on Model A Day HMS Cheerleaders brought lots of spirit! HHS Marching Band visited on Spirit Day Christmas Day 1958 She also has fond memories of the times they spent in their 29 ft. cruiser boat. They took many trips on the boat, one that lasted as long as four weeks. Kay has led a very busy, productive life!
