The thirty-third Sunday in O. T. - 16th November 2014 !
!
!
This Sunday we welcome Bishop
Patrick Lynch to St Mary’s and
rejoice in the Confirmation of
some of our young parishioners.
The image of the dove is a
traditional way of depicting the
Holy Spirit bringing peace and
good news to the world. The
Spirit is also depicted as a flame
in descending upon the disciples
at Pentecost - able to set our lives on
fire. And, of course, the Spirit brings
new strength to the life of each
Christian: through many gifts (Cf
Isaiah 11:2) and many fruits (Cf
Galatians 5:22-23). The Holy Spirit
enables each of us to give witness
with confidence and courage to the
love of God in the world.

So Sorry! we have had to cancel the Christmas Fair and
the Senior Citizen’s Christmas Lunch because of the
building work still going on in the Monastery. We hope
to make up for this in the New Year with a Senior
Citizen’s banquet and a Fair in the Spring time. !
Meantime, there’s a “Lifeline Christmas Party” at St
Peter’s Church Hall, Prescott Place (off the High Street)
on Saturday, 29 November 2pm - 4pm to which our
