Although we have a deep faith in the Resurrection of Jesus and in the eternal life that He has won for us, allowing us to share in
the very life of the Trinity in an eternity of bliss, that doesn’t generally make us any happier about thinking about the end of our
lives on this earth.
One of the concerns we have is what is going to happen to those who are left behind? If I have several children and only a limited amount of property, how would that be divided up? - equally or according to their particular needs? How do I go about organizing this?
Or if I or my spouse have health issues, what is Catholic teaching on the treatments that are available? What can I refuse and
what must I accept? What rights do I and my designated next-of-kin have in regards to treatment?
We don’t want to leave all the arrangements for our funerals to our loved ones after we are gone - they will be grief-stricken
(hopefully!) and find it difficult to make all the decisions that need to be made.
To help with these issues we are organizing a Life-Planning Seminar for sometime in the New Year. Please take a moment to fill
out the questionnaire below so that we can see what issues matter most to our parishioners and make sure that these areas are covered in our seminar.
We will need help to organize the seminar, so if you could help in any way we’d be extremely grateful. Please fill in the line #4
on the questionnaire to indicate how you might be able to help.
God Bless, Fr. Robert.

SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL:
Today as we celebrate Christ the King, we
hear Jesus say: “...whatever you did for one
of the least brothers and sisters of mine, you
did for me.” Knowing that we find the face of
Christ in the poor, the Society of St. Vincent
de Paul would like to thank our parishioners
for enabling us to serve needy families by
providing them with food and clothing.
Reminder: Gifts for the Angel Tree children
should be brought to the Narthex by December 7th.
Find the face of Christ
Imagine a world designed for your pleasure! Philippine
Duchesne was raised in a French society that loved to
throw a party. She dressed up and danced—until the
revolution in France shattered the upper-class bubble.
Dedicating herself to Christ, she found him in two places: the faces of the poor and the Eucharist. She couldn’t tell them apart, which is a good thing. Arriving in
America as a Sacred Heart sister, she served poor children in frontier schools in Missouri and Louisiana. What
can you do for the poor Christ today?
The Columbiettes again are offering you the opportunity to
order “Keep Christ in Christmas“ Cards from their catalogue. You can get a catalogue in the Narthex. Orders are due
by November 23rd to ensure they arrive in time for Christmas
mailings.
ADORATION of the BLESSED SACRAMENT: There is Adoration of the Blessed
Sacrament from 9:30 a.m. on Friday with benediction at 5:45 PM. There will be NO Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Friday,
November 28th, 2014: the Friday after
Thanksgiving.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION & FAITH FORMATION
Dear Parents,
A HAPPY AND BLESSED THANKSGIVING!
The arrival and dismissal of our students continues to
work well with everyone’s support. It has provided not
only safety for our students, but has given both teachers
and parents the opportunity to speak to each other on a
weekly basis concerning student or material being taught.
The teachers and I continue to be grateful for your loving
support. All parents or designated adults that are responsible for the delivery and pick-up of our students will
park in the parking lot in FRONT OF THE CHURCH and
then walk with their child/children to the classroom. You
will sign your child in and when you return to pick-up
your child, you will need to sign your child out and your
child will walk with you to your car. Parents may not park
in front of the Fr. Carlos building.

Harvest that there be laborers for the vineyard”, we
are launching the “Vocations' Pilgrim Chalice Program” in our parish. We encourage parishioners to
take the Chalice home for a week and pray for vocations! Simply put it in a prominent place, pray
(prayers are included) and talk about vocations. We
will start with the December 12th Mass. Sign up will
be next weekend at the Narthex.
The Charismatic Prayer Group meets every
Wednesday morning after the 9:00 AM Mass in the
Fr. Carlos Building. Come join us!
Dear Parishioners:
I am asking that everyone continue to give at the level that
they did this time last year. This is what our budget is based
on and it’s vital that we stick to it. Thank you again for your
continued generosity.

loved one or celebrate an anniversary or birthday. Please
contact the church office if you would like to support this
effort. Thank you, Tammy Higgins, Art and Environment.

THE VIRGIN MARY IS ONE FOR ALL
LET US DO WHAT SHE TELLS US:
OBEY THE KING OF THE UNIVERSE
'Do whatever He tells you.' This famous expression that the Blessed Virgin Mary says is the summit
of the guarantees that promise us full happiness here on earth and eternal joy in heaven.
There are many voices in the world inviting us to do what we please, what others tell us, what fashion imposes or what the Devil is saying to our conscience by manipulating and seducing us with
temptation. Yes, many external and internal voices. But just at this moment in my heart is the voice
of the Virgin inviting us in the Parish of Saint Ann, to do what Jesus tells us to do.
The first person to give us the secret to continuously filling the empty jars in our hearts with new
hope and faith is the Virgin Mary. But we need to realize our identity as members of the Catholic
Church. First of all, We love the Virgin, We venerate the person recognizing that the God the Father,
choses her, to be the mother of His Son Jesus. The Mother of God the Son. Therefore she is also the
Mother of the Eucharist, Mother of the Church. Jesus gave his mother to the whole of mankind from
the wood of the cross when he said to John: behold your mother. Therefore, it is also our mother. We
believe she takes us by the hand to Jesus; She intercedes for us before God and comforts us in our afflictions as a loving and
faithful mother.
She is the same person, under any of the various names She has used in her many visits or appearances to every human
group on the planet. She is only one, the Mother of God himself. And in our parish we honor her childhood, in the arms of her
mother, Saint Ann, our patroness.
Let us celebrate with joy the Octave Mariano SHE IS ONE FOR ALL from December 5 to 12. Both, The Englishspeaking and Spanish-speaking people are just one family. SHE IS ONE FOR ALL and we are all one in her, doing everything
the Lord is telling us to do. The favorite sons of the Virgin are priests. Jesus shares his priesthood ministry with Father Robert
and with me. He shares the third degree of priesthood with the deacons to work with and encourage priests in their ministry and
share the common priesthood of all the baptized faithful and especially you. Get ready to renew your faith now that you're reading these few lines of spiritual encouragement, of Mariology and Faith in action, and every moment of celebration, every day of
your life.
Fr. Frank
Prepárate a renovar tu fe ahora
