The Pastor’s Corner
Dear Parishioners,
As mentioned, I will be heading to St. Mary Parish,
Delaware, as pastor, effective July 9, 2013. There will be a going
away reception for me here which will be held next Sunday,
June 30th following the noon Mass. The reception will go from
1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and again from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
I still plan to remain here until the move date. Again, I have
been so blessed to be here as pastor!

On behalf of Fr. Andrew Torma, MSC, thank you for
your very generous response to his mission appeal for the
Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. Thus far, $7,511.34 has
been raised. A portion of this collection, 10%, goes to our local
Diocesan Missions Office, for the work they do in promoting
the missionary life of the Church. God bless you!
Last warning! McCoy Road will be closed at the end of
the month from Mountview Road to Longhill Road, as the little
bridge over Turkey Run Creek is going to be replaced. Access
to our McCoy Road parking lot will be available from Reed
Road. Please pray that this is completed before the Festival;
otherwise, we may be in a little heap of trouble.
Speaking of Festival, it is kicking into high gear! The
volunteer sign-up board is in place in the parlor, and sold
raffle tickets are already coming in. There is plenty of time to
consider being a sponsor, or securing a Silent Auction item.
Our Festival Committee, under the leadership of General
Chairperson Debbie Bichimer, is awesome in providing the
necessary oversight and execution of plans. We are blessed!
The Bishop’s Annual Appeal continues, and thus far there
have been 244 gifts received and a total of $115,212 pledged,
which is 62% of our parish goal of $184,875. Your gift helps
to support the many activities and programs throughout the
diocese.
Fr. Michael Watson
The Capital Campaign is pleased to announce
the formation of the Building Committee. This group will assist
in the oversight of the construction phase of the capital
improvements. The Committee includes: Fr. Watson, Joel
Wichtman, Ann Whiteman, Suzie Emsweller, Jim Fortkamp,
Tom Kasberg, Dan Pardi, Pat Davis, Jim Stevens, Nick King,
Trey Cahill, Hal Plant and Kevin Carpenter.
Fundraising continues. Thus far there have been 473
donors and the total amount pledged is $4.1 million.
To illustrate the great need and changes to come, the
Building Committee is renovating Room 206. This classroom
of the future is located at the end of the 2nd floor hallway and
should be completed by August 15th.
S T. A N D R E W AT H L E T I C A S S O C I AT I O N
MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS – Each spring,
applications are accepted for membership in the St. Andrew
Athletic Association. This is a great stewardship opportunity
for those who would like to participate in the planning and
organization of the St. Andrew School athletic programs. To
be a member of the Association, a person must be a member
of St. Andrew Parish or be a parent of a child who attends St.
Andrew School. The application form can be printed from the
standrewsports.com website under the “Handouts” section.
The completed application should be scanned and e-mailed
to [email protected] or mailed to the Athletic Director

will be reviewed by the existing Board members and eligible
