SOS December M. Medal - December 12th 2014 (Strokeplay - Mixed) plus the Open Season Dinner & Winter Snow Ball at the DRC Al Dostour Hall The belated Open Season Dinner finally took place last Friday at Al Dostour Hall in the DRC. It was a breath taking experience as we walked in to the hall and the way it was decorated. It was certainly worth the wait. A huge thank you to all those involved in presenting the hall the way it turned out. A special thank you to Gill, Debby and Monico for the vision and effort it took to turn thing the way they did. The snow outside and the fireplace inside, the scrumptious buffet as well as being serenaded to the excellent sound of Doha Jazz Band. Maybe late but definitely worth the wait. During the evening a special presentation to a very special person who gave all during the last six or so years. The President Mr. Hussain Al Mutawa presented departing Captain Mr. Johan Van Vuuren with a gift as a gesture of appreciation for his efforts during his captaincy reign. Earlier in the morning, the SOS December Medal was contested and the top honors went to Phil James with 71 nett which was good enough for second spot. The winner of the SOS December Medal was Abdulrahim Bin Jaafar with a score of 69 nett. However, the competition secretary alarmingly stole the limelight by having too many weapons in his armory and the number of points to be deducted from his score. His nett score of 72 was finally adjusted to 76 despite the calls of disqualifications from Old Man Cole (not a merry old soul). Winner: Abdulrahim B. Jaafar Runner up: Phil James Open Season Dinner & Winter Snow Ball at the DRC Al Dostour Hall Season’s Open Party The Golf course will remain open and operational through the temporary office and tent facilities.
