Long Ashton Poppy Trail
1 December - mid January
The Long Ashton Royal British Legion Poppy Trail is on display in Long Ashton library, featuring a map
of the village in 1914 and the location of the homes of the servicemen who died in WWI, with
further information gathered from war records for some of the servicemen. Find out more about the
history of Long Ashton, free during library opening hours.
Bookstart Rhymetime for pre-school children, accompanied by a parent or carer. Sessions are free.

North Somerset Archive Service
Thursday 5th March
An archivist will be available at Weston Library 11-1pm and 2-3.0pm to help to research family,
house and local history; provide information on the material held in the archive on the Somerset
archives catalogue; and bring copies of documents for study purposes or even original material (at
the discretion of the archivist)
If you would like material brought from Taunton you will need to contact Somerset Heritage Centre
staff telephone 01823 278 805 before noon the day before the visit.

Weston Library Teen Zone – Yu-Gu-Oh! You need to bring along a deck of trading cards and have
access to a calculator. The 'advanced' rules are played. Bring a snack (no hot or smelly food!
In order to make way for new titles and recycle less used stock, we regularly offers items for sale
that are no longer in demand in our libraries
BIG book sale at Portishead Library has fantastic offers on ex library stock, including “Buy One Get
One Free” offers and prices starting from 30p. Saturday book sales take place from 9.30am –
3.45pm and Sunday book sales from 10.30am – 2pm.

At weekends Weston library has a trolley of books for sale.
