My family lives away nowadays, so the raising of the tree is my time to quietly shuffle through memories again.....same decorations, same memories! I reflect on earlier decades, am thankful for genes that keep me reasonably healthy in these later years. As far as prosperity goes, I consider myself rich in that I have many very good friends and enough of everything else to keep me comfortable. I appreciate these blessings. Merry Christmas! As we transcend to a brand new year, I hope you will continue to enjoy all the activities offered through NHCS. Watch for something new. The Suggestion Box brought in some ideas for new goings-on, and there are “Interest Lists” for Bird Watching classes, musical “jamming” Western style, Mah Jongg, chess, etc. Put your name on the list at the office or call 250-755-7501. I want to remind you that all contributions to the suggestion box, require name and contact information (phone number). New privacy laws don’t allow general distribution of personal information, so city staff cannot give NHCS the numbers in their files. Have you ordered your NHCS t-shirt yet? They’re beautiful! They’re turquoise! They’re available through Warren Jaques (his phone number is listed on the right side of this page). Let’s get busy, get moving, stay healthy. It’s a new year on the calendar, and another year on our bodies......let’s make the best of both! Happy New Year, 2015! Best regards, Bettie Godfrey STATUTORY HOLIDAYS & CLOSURES There will be no programs on Thursday, December 25 (Christmas Day) Friday, December 26 (Boxing Day) Thursday, January 1 (New Year’s Day) The Bowen Auditorium will be closed for floor refinishing from Friday, December 19 through to Monday, December 29.
