Announcements Monday, February 2nd , 2015
 Do you want to be an entrepreneur? Do you want free food? If you answered yes to one or both of these
questions, then you should attend the interest meeting for Entrepreneurship Club on February 4th after
school in the library.
 Attention all NHS members! Our next mandatory meeting is on Tuesday, February 3rd at 7:30 am in
room 216. We will be discussing upcoming events and opportunities for points as well as deadlines for
earning points. Questions? Ask a pod leader, club officer, or Ms. Janicek, Mrs. Hoeksema, or Mr.
Strykowski.
 For the next two Tuesdays from 7:15 to 7:45, History Club will be selling donuts. You will find us in
the Cafeteria hallway.
 If you’re a Junior considering a future that involves working with children & adolescents then you need
to be in Invitation to Teach your Senior Year! Applications are available from your guidance counselor
and if you have questions, see Ms. Ōler in room 112.
 Are you interested in being a part of Hinsdale Central Dance Company? If you like to dance and
would like to find out more information, there will be an interest meeting on Wednesday, February 4th
in room 149 at 3:10. See Ms. Tierney if you have any questions
 Do you want a free turnabout ticket? Unlimited concessions and VIP seating at the Hinsdale CentralYork basketball game? A VIP room at turnabout complete with food and drinks? Yes? Then grab
some friends and make a spirit team. Want to know more? Check your email, twitter, or talk Mrs.
Tylk, Mrs. HIffman, Mrs. Philip, or Ms. Bronke.
 There will be a gymnastics informational meeting for all current members of the gymnastics team and
any freshman boys interested in being a part of this unique sport on Wednesday Feb. 4th at 3:15 in the
gymnastics gym. If you have any questions contact coach Laffey or coach Wanner.
 Are you interested in being an Ambassador next year? If so, the applications are now available in the
guidance office. Please fill out the application and sign up for an interview (sign-up sheet is outside the
guidance office.) Reminder… returning Ambassadors also must fill out an application but do not need
to interview. All applications are due by noon on February 20th to the guidance office.
 If you ordered a class of 2017 shirt, please come pick it up from Ms. Lopez in room 147 before or after
school this week. Shirts will also be distributed during all lunch periods on Feb. 3rd, 4th and 6th.
 Peer Leadership is now accepting applications for new and returning leaders for the 2015-2016 school
year. Peer Leaders help freshman become familiar with the school during the first semester. Returning
leaders and new leaders should complete their application by Friday Feb 13th . Returning leaders who
are interested in running for an Executive Board position should apply by Friday Feb 6th . For the link to

 Attention, all Reading Marathon participants! The next Reading Marathon “aid station” will be a
Sweet Stop! Join us in the Library Reading Lounge for sweet treats on Friday, Feb. 13 during all
lunches. Bring your own lunch, talk books with fellow Marathon participants, and enjoy sweets
provided by the HC PTO.
