Dear Parents and Carers,
What a wonderful fortnight we have had with re-enactments of the invasion of Britain and the Great Fire of
London taking place in the playground and a marvellous uplifting trip to the O2 with the Young Voices Choir.
Learning is never dull here!
Lord, you split no sky when you came among us,
And you rose not from the sea.
A star was seen in the heavens—but only by those who looked.
A choir of angels was heard—but only by those who listened.
No thunder, no storm, no cataclysm announced you,
Just the cry of a lowly refugee,
Turning to no one, turning to everyone,
Saying, "Will you let me in?"
And so, when every night is winter,
And every town is Bethlehem,
And every inn seems filled,
And on every ear those words are heard,
"Will you let me in?"
May we have eyes to see the star,
May we have ears to hear the choir,
May we have hearts that finally speak:
Yes, yes, by all means, come in.
Come in and stay.
Amen

School Dinners
Can all parents/carers ensure that all school dinners are paid for at least one week in advance all cheques should
be made payable to “Oxfordshire County Council”. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide lunches where
payment has not been received.
Girls 7-A-Side Football
On Tuesday our girls faced Wolvercote in an Open 7s tournament league game. We were very energetic and,
despite missing a lot of good chances, went 2-0 up after half time. However, a strong recovery by Wolvercote
saw them overcome us 3-2 just before full time! Thanks to Mrs Barresi's washing machine.

KS2 perform at 02 Arena, London
On Friday 30th January, KS2 CHOIR (YR4/5/6) joined forces to perform with a massed Schools Choir of 7500
at the 02 Arena, London. The Choir performed with a professional rock band, street dancers and X Factor
soloist! It was a truly amazing experience for the children who can now claim to have performed on stage at the
O2 Arena! I especially want to thank our amazing parent helpers - Mrs Hawkswood, Mrs Exley, Mrs Daniel and
Mrs Strong.
Edwina Vernon - Choir Mistress.

Every now and again during the year different classes bring in cakes, usually homemade, which are sold to
children throughout the school during the day at 20p per cake. The money raised is used by the class teacher for
books and other extras. The sales are announced by posters on the PTA notice board and school doors and by
Parentmail. Please don't let your children forget their cake money. The next sale will be on Friday 13 February
and involve Mrs Blanco Rand's, Mr Ingram's and Mrs. Price's classes.
