From The Career Center Congratulations to Sam Wittmer who earned the right to compete at the State DECA Career Development Conference on March 8-10. From The Guidance Counselor SENIORS AND PARENTS OF SENIORS: Wow! How time goes by. The days are winding down to when seniors will be graduating and going off to a post-secondary school. One step towards helping with the financial aid process is completing the FAFSA. This is an online application that can be found at www.fafsa.gov (this is a free application, so if you are asked to pay....you are on the wrong website). I am including some information from the state to assist in finding out more about the FAFSA and different types of aid. Morgan Township will also be hosting a financial aid night on February 4 (see below). If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Celeste Robinson, Kouts Guidance Counselor. The deadline for the FAFSA is March 15, 2015. Morgan Township High School will be hosting a Financial Aid Night on February 4, 2015 at 6:30 pm. A representative will be there to discuss financial aid and FAFSA information. After the presentation, a computer lab will be available to complete the FAFSA online (please bring your tax information and PIN number-which you can apply for at pin.ed.gov----if you have not done your 2014 taxes, you can bring your 2013 taxes and just change the information later). If possible, the Morgan Township Guidance dept. would like a count of how many parents/students will be attending in order to make sure they have computer availability. Please contact the Morgan Twp. guidance dept. at 219-462-5883 if you are planning on attending. Juniors & Seniors: Abbtt & Fenner business consultants are committed to continuing their efforts at helping those who have the desire and ambition to succeed. They are offering a scholarship of $1000 to high school juniors and seniors who qualify. To apply, you will need to write an essay on a specific topic. More infomation can be found at [email protected]. Seniors: The GFWC IFC Nurses Scholarship was created as a result of a shortage of nurses due to WW2 , when women were enrolling in nursing schools as a way to show their patriotism. Members of this organization saw the need to financially assist these women, thus the scholarship remains today. The applicatoin is open to any graduating High School Senior or Non-Traditional student, whose plans include attending a college or university in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science Degree in an accredited Nursing Program. Please see Mrs. Robinson for an application. Everything you ever needed to know about KOUTS MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL’S 2015 YEARBOOK! 1.
