Small Groups
Custom Designed Reflection
Guide” is the Lent 2015 Small
Group Conversation and
Congregational Read Book.
Looking for a Lenten discipline
to enhance your spiritual
journey? Why not join a small
group!
The small group/
congregational read book is
“Custom Designed Reflection Guide: Ordinary People
Hearing God’s Call”. We'll focus on how God has
“Custom Designed” us with special gifts, experiences,
and a call. Each of the book’s 12 chapters has a short
teaching section on a facet of our call followed by
many reflection exercises. It is organized under five
"P" words. Each of these P words is a section: Power,
Places, Plan, Purpose, and Press on. We will read
and discuss, explore and consider each of the "P"
word sections during the weeks of Lent.
Pick up your copy of the book, and stop in Hyson Hall
beginning Feb. 1st to sign-up. Contact Andrea Baxter
with any questions. ([email protected])

Midweek Lenten worship services begin
on Ash Wednesday, February 18th at
noon and 7:30 pm. Join us every Wednesday
at either the Service of the Word at noon or
Holden Evening Prayer at 7:30 pm,
February 18 through April 1st.
Ashes
to Go
Join Pastor Lutz Wednesday,
February 18th at the Lansdale
Train Station to receive ashes on
your way to work. He will be offering
ashes 6:30 to 7:30 am.
We take ashes to the street corner
because it is a reminder of need,
humility, and healing and shouldn’t
be confined to a church building. We probably need it more
when we are in the middle of our
daily business! The ashes we receive are to remind us throughout
the day of our need for God, and of
God’s call to us.
This weekend we will be celebrating
Holy Baptism during worship.

We are in the process of
planning the Annual Coat Drive for Patterson

luncheon
February 15th - Hyson Hall from 7-9 pm
There used to be a time when kids sat,
played video games and exercise was a
thing of the past. Nintendo then took the
bull by the horns and developed WII – a
video game, but one that required you to
move! Now it’s time for Mary Martha to
embrace the concept. WII – what’s better
than when WE get together to encourage
each other and laugh. Tennis, Baseball,
Bowling, Yoga – let’s do something for
ourselves and for each other. Come out
and join us to play or just to watch. If you
have an extra remote, please bring it along.

ADULT FORUM
February 15, 2015
Room 125/127
Luther as Editor and Illustrator
Presented by The Rev. Karl Krueger, Ph.D.-Library
Director & Professor of the History of Christianity
This three-week series examines the German Bibles that
Martin Luther worked on in 1534 and 1541. It presents
Luther as an editor and illustrator who worked closely with
the printers in Wittenberg so that text and image would
showcase evangelical theology. The sessions feature
PowerPoint presentations that let us see and experience
the novelty of Luther's integrative approach.
Come, see, and be enriched.

ASP Thirty years
of discipleship
This is YOUR chance.
This is YOUR time. This
is YOUR choice. YOU
can make a difference
in the world, and in the
process, give yourself
that feeling that only comes from doing
something for others. We’ve said it before,
“You have to have been there” to know
what we’re talking about.
There are still a few slots left for this year’s
ASP trip to Kentucky. We have five teams
going this summer from June 27 to July 5.
There is a good mix of folks who have gone
before and those who will be new this year.
If you’ve been thinking about joining us,
NOW is your year. We can take both youth
and adults. Everyone has a skill or talent
that will be useful.
If you want to join us, contact Karen
Wenhold at 215 264-7042 or
[email protected] to receive an
information packet.
C OMMEMORATIONS
FOR THE
God on Tap Gathering
Join us Monday, February 23rd at 7:30
p.m. At Round Guys Brewery, Lansdale
This group meets the 4th Monday of the
month to enjoy a beer and talk about our
faith and Christianity. This month we will
discuss what it means to live in harmony
with creation:
 Should we all be vegetarians?
 Do animals matter to God?
 Does it matter what vehicle I drive?
 Should we be seeking more sustainable modes of living? and more!
The group is open
to all - Christians, non-Christians, beer
drinkers, and designated drivers. All are
welcome. Enjoy the 20% off food with us.
W EEK
As a means of recognizing the witness of exemplary Christians throughout church history,
Evangelical Lutheran Worship includes many commemorations which may be observed in corporate
worship as well as in personal devotions.
Wednesday, February 18, 2015-Martin Luther, renewer of the church,
died 1546
Though he began his adult church life as a simple Augustinian monk, Luther challenged the
abuses he saw in the church, and his work eventually led to the Protestant Reformation. Luther's
accomplishments included liturgical reform, translation of the Bible, and creation of the Small and
Large Catechisms.
