We are in the process of
planning the Annual Coat Drive for Patterson
School and are in need of hats to supply
along with each coat.
Please consider this mission as your way to
help keep these children warm and
healthy. Yarn (at no cost) is available

mornings for you to pick up at your
convenience. As you complete your
contributions, feel free to drop the finished
hats at our table for accumulation toward this

Small Groups
Custom Designed
Reflection Guide” is the
Lent 2015 Small Group

Congregational Read
Book. Looking for a
Lenten discipline to
enhance your spiritual
journey? Why not join a
small group!
The small group/congregational read book is
“Custom Designed Reflection Guide: Ordinary
People Hearing God’s Call”. We'll focus on how
God has “Custom Designed” us with special
gifts, experiences, and a call. Each of the
book’s 12 chapters has a short teaching
section on a facet of our call followed by many
reflection exercises. It is organized under five
"P" words. Each of these P words is a section:
Power, Places, Plan, Purpose, and Press on.
We will read and discuss, explore and consider
each of the "P" word sections during the weeks
of Lent.
Pick up your copy of the book, and stop in
Hyson Hall today to sign-up.

LENTEN WORLD HUNGER APPEAL
During this Lenten season, the Social
Ministry Committee is encouraging our
congregation to participate in the Lenten
World Hunger Appeal. As caring Christians
our ultimate goal is to end local and world
hunger. You can do your part by using either
one of the special fund envelopes mailed to
your home or an ELCA World Hunger Appeal
envelope to make your donations. Lenten
World Hunger packets are available at the
exits of the sanctuary. Please take one and
read the information inside. In addition
please consider these other ways that you
can make a difference for a hungry world:

Each week of Lent, change to a lowcost simple meal instead of a full meal or
eating out, and use the cost savings as a
donation to this appeal
 Donate canned goods to our monthly
food cupboard drive
 Sponsor our students participating in
their 30 hour famine
 Volunteer at our F.E.A.S.T. program
 Make a dinner for our Code Blue Shelter
 Encourage and support our Sunday
Church School children in their canned
food drive
 Join an advocacy group such as Bread
for the World at www.bread.org
 Find out where the food pantry in your
community is located and get involved
 Remember the hungry and poor in your
prayers
Through our giving and caring, through
our advocacy and action, we can make a
life-saving difference for the hungry. Thank
you for supporting this appeal!
