Health’s ambulatory care centre is on
schedule, with the first stage of the
transition to the new building
expected in early March.
The $7.4M facility provides one point
of access to integrated health services
– focussing on rehab, mental health
and primary care.
Published third Thursday of each even month
It will house Kyneton District Health’s
Community Nurses and Primary
Health Clinic, Kyneton Community
Mental Health (Bendigo Health) and

The shared space will facilitate a more
coordinated and seamless approach to

community.
Workers are close to finishing the
modern consulting and treatment
rooms. The next stage is to install
technologies and move in equipment
and staff.
This includes set-up of the gym and a
simulated bathroom and kitchen,
designed to help patients regain their
independence and quality of life after a
hospital stay.
Landscaping work is underway,
including the mobility garden at the
rear, where patients can develop
motor skills.
Once the first stage is complete the
portables will be removed, increasing
free car parks. There will also be
capacity for the local bus to deliver
patients and visitors to the door.
The state-of-the-art helipad is
expected to be operational once site
works are complete.
Negotiations are underway for two
local general practices to move into
the building.
An opening celebration is expected
mid-year.

Community Park April Start
The foundation works for the Kyneton
Community Park in the Kyneton
Botanic Gardens will start in April.
The construction of Kyneton
Community Park will now be led by
Laidlaw and Laidlaw–the Park’s
landscape architects–and project
managed by Macedon Ranges Shire
Council.
An event to enable residents to find
out more about the interactive park’s
unique design will be held in the
Botanic Gardens on Sat Mar 21 from
1pm.
The Community Park will be a unique
nature-based environment at the
historic Kyneton Botanic Gardens for
people of all ages and abilities to picnic,
celebrate, exercise and play.
It will be a place for all Kyneton
residents—from babies to
grandparents and everyone in
between—and will be a celebration of
the local history and community of
Kyneton.
The Community Park’s Amy Cockroft
Kyneton Community Park Inc, the
community group that has lead the
design and funding of Kyneton
Community Park since 2007 believes
their mission had been achieved, and
has decided to dissolve.
“We believe that our job is done, and
we are incredibly proud of what we
have achieved,” said outgoing
President Amy Cockroft.
“The project has attracted strong
community support over the past nine
years, with many people donating time,
money and expertise to the idea.
Page 2
“The coming together of such
concerted community effort, a
wonderful site, and a brilliant design is
truly a rare thing,” Amy continued.
“Our role, as Kyneton Community
Park Inc, has been to incorporate the
community’s needs and wants into a
beautiful park, and to lobby for the
funding of the Park.
“We feel we have achieved this now.
The technicalities of construction and
funding acquittals are better managed
by the Council.”
In 2012, Kyneton Community Park Inc
delivered a concept plan that brought
together many years of community
consultation. On the strength of that
concept plan, $900,000 has been
committed to the Park through local,
state and federal governments.

Cr Jennifer Anderson Reports
For those of you who don't know I
have been elected Mayor.
This is a position for one year, voted
on in November each year by
Councillors.
It is a great honor to be entrusted with
this responsibility and I hope everyone
will be proud of how I represent the
Shire.
We have had some fires in the Shire
already and I want to remind you all to
make sure you have a fire plan, and
keep your property as safe as possible
by cleaning out gutters, cutting long
grass, and clearing up rubbish.
Summer is also a time when more
people are cycling in and around our
beautiful towns and villages.
Council has partnered with Bike Safe
Macedon Ranges to promote bicycle
safety for both cyclists and drivers,
particularly with overtaking, and
bicycle visibility.
The Annual Budget and Council Plan
Review will be upon us soon, so make
sure you send ideas through to me and
all Councillors as soon as possible.
I am hoping this year will see many
more initiatives to improve
environmental outcomes for the Shire,
and also save us money in the long
term.
We have a Green team at council,
putting into practice such initiatives
within council offices, my personal
favorite being the introduction of
Worm Farms, to reduce organic waste
going to Landfill.
This may seem small, but if everyone
does something small to help, it results
in a big change. I'm looking forward to
council, leading the way.
Jennifer

New date for Tylden Fair
The Tylden Primary School Fair has
moved from its former May date to
Saturday March 21.
The Fair this year will boast an array
of new activities with a distinct
country flavour.

Also back this year are the very
popular camel rides, trackless train,
bungee trampolines, jumping castle,
inflatable mega olympic obstacle
course, mini golf, hay toss and much
more.
The stalls include locally grown
produce, (including much from the

treasure, second-hand books, plants,
and a great range of silent auction
goods will also be there on the day.
If you feel like munching a hamburger
while watching the wood chopping, or
enjoying a Devonshire Tea while
watching the kids play mini golf, then
come along on Saturday 21 March
between 10 and 3pm to Tylden
Primary School, 11 Clowes Street,
Tylden for a fun day out.
To pre purchase wristbands, and a full
