CAMP OUT
Details regarding our annual CAMP OUT will be posted
later this week. Please keep a look out for this notice and
set aside Friday 27 and Saturday 28 March for this fun
family event!
VALUABLES AT SCHOOL
Please remind your children that anything of value should
NOT be brought to school. This includes larger amounts of
money. Any money or items of value should be kept in a
secure pocket and not left in a school bag. Unfortunately,
there are sporadic occasions when goods are stolen.
THE AREPP
The show scheduled for the 11 February presented by Arepp: Theatre for Life has been
moved to Wednesday, 25 February.
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR PARENTS
Please note that parents are requested not to bring items that learners have left at home to the

Friday, 20 February, in the appropriate uniform, to celebrate Baden-Powell’s birthday.
BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL SECURITY
Before School, Begonia Road and Langerman Rd pedestrian gates are usually open by
06h45 in the morning. This may vary either way by a few minutes. It is advisable not
to drop children too early (i.e. before this time in the mornings). Both these gates are
then locked at 08:00,for security reasons. All late children must enter at the Zastron
Rd gate and report to reception. Both gates are opened again at 13h00 (1pm) to allow
access when the Gr1 and Gr 2 learners depart. Parents are requested not to try and access the Begonia Road entrance for school office business during the day but to ring
the bell and enter through Zastron Rd main gate. For security reasons, all visitors to
the school are expected to report to RECEPTION at the main entrance. Under no circumstances are any visitors or parents allowed to enter the building and go to class
rooms. This is also to prevent disruption while teaching is taking place.
After school, when the school (13h05 and 14h30) is over , learners are expected: a) to
be picked up within 15 minutes of the bell or b) get ready for sport practices / matches
or c) go to DAYCARE. Learners who are waiting for their lifts wait on the yellow
bench with their bags. They are not allowed to run around the school or interfere with
sports activities or daycare. Please do not allow your child to sit on the bench and wait
for extended periods of time (no longer than 15 minutes) as it is very unfair and frustrating for them. It is requested that such children be enrolled in daycare rather than sit
around bored.
DROP & GO
We are now into our 5th week of term and children, particularly
Grade Ones, know the routine. It is no longer necessary to bring
your child to the classroom or pick them up from the classroom. For
the continued smooth flow of traffic please DROP & GO ONLY.
Please remember that both Begonia and Langerman must be used
as one ways so that children are dropped on the pavement side of
the school. Please consider our neighbours too. We have received
a number of complaints about parents: parked cars opposite
driveways, unattended cars, as well as verbal abuse. This is not
the image our school would like to portray in the community.
Please assist by adhering to the basic rules.
