Many new items have been added to the Parish Library
recently. If you are looking for inspiration or motivation
for the Season of Lent to have a closer relationship with
our Lord a table display with various items is there for
your convenience to check out. Please remember to
promptly return your items, and thank you for your
patronage for the Library.
The discipline of Lent
 Roman Catholics aged 14 and older are required to abstain
from eating meat on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays of
Lent.
 Roman Catholics aged 18 through their 59th birthday are
required to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday: two
small meals and one regular meal with no snacks. If a
serious medical reason requires one not to fast, ask Fr.
Broheimer for a dispensation.

As I mentioned last weekend, I will be
in the confessional a considerable
amount of time this Lent like usual. Please take the
time this Lent to make a good examination of
conscience and a good Confession.
Usually when we go to Confession, we are
thinking of ourselves. We think about our sins,
being forgiven of them, receiving the graces to resist
those sins in the future (graces which are particular
to Confession and cannot be gained anywhere else).
But have we considered how Confession praises
God? This is the first purpose of all the Sacraments
including Confession. When we confess our sins
and seek forgiveness, we allow God to be God for
us. We allow him to do the good, creative work in
us that only God can do. We allow him to save us,
to love us, to make us better by healing us.
Allow God to do the work he so desires to do
within us this Lent through the Sacrament of
Confession. No one ever regrets confessing; there
are those who regret never confessing.
Attached to this bulletin is an examination of
conscience to help you consider where you need
God’s healing grace in your life. Wonderful things
are possible through this Sacrament.
