The month that was: Moment of Rejoice: 66th Republic Day was celebrated with traditional gusto and fervor on 26 January 2015. The sacrifices of our freedom fighters were remembered. Our chairman, Sri Laxmi Narayan Agarwal, unfurled the national flag amidst an impressive gathering of faculty and staff members. Academic activities: Dr. B. B Tiwari (PGDM) presented two papers in international conferences at University of Allahabad from 12-14 Dec. 2014. On the occasion, his book titled “Mehtanomics: Ek Nai Arthik Soch,” was also unveiled by Prof. Shri Prakash, Professor Emeritus, BIMTECH. Dr. Kshitez Banerjee (PGDM/MBA) authored a book - “Basics of Management –A handbook for future Managers” which was released by Prof. Rooprekha Varma (former Vice Chancellor University of Lucknow) on 07 Jan.2015. Cultural/Technical activities: • 2 days yoga camp - “insight into yoga” was organized on 19 -20 Jan 2015 with an objective of incorporating yogic ideals in our day to day activities. The camp was conducted by highly experienced teachers Ms. Neelam and Mr. Pradeep. Yoga camp “Insight into yoga” (Pictures Courtesy: Photography cell) • Bhajan Sandhya - a spiritual (all dharma) get together was organized at SRMGPC on 7th January 2015. Captivating bhajans were presented by in-house talents as well by a bhajan mandally headed by Pt. Shakti Tiwari. A Spiritual get together (Pictures Courtesy: Photography cell) Upcoming events/activities: • • • • Abhivyakti-2k15 – an annual college fest, is scheduled from 19th to 21st Feb. 2015. Guest lecturers, Workshops, Presentations, Industrial visits, Excursion etc. are being planned for the students in the coming months of Feb-March 2015. An alumni meet is scheduled for 21st Feb. 2015. Aerobic classes are being organized for women employees soon under the expert guidance of “Sport- Fit” gym. Admin Domain: • • In order to enhance safety of all, we were placing barriers on NH 28 near our gate. However we have been forced to remove these by the National Highway Authorities. In view of this, all commuters are advised to be extra cautious while crossing the road. • • • A health centre has been established at the P.G. block (Room No: D-109). For this an ambulance has been procured and a nursing assistance has been appointed. Doctor will visit our college every day. Those needing medical attention may contact the health center. Towards improving the food and infrastructure in the student messes, mess committees have been formed and general body meetings have been scheduled. From the registrar’s desk: • New session (for all batches) started from 27th January 2015. Placement Jingles: • • The placement drive at SRMGPC had an overwhelming start. Companies like Wipro, T.C.S, Indusland Bank, Wrigley’s, Reliance communication; HDFC Bank, etc. have turned out to be the major recruiters for the 2015 batch. Even Indian Army had come for campus selection. T.C.S - off campus is scheduled for 20th Feb. 2015 for the second round of interviews. Lest you forget: • • • • • No vehicles are permitted in the campus without a college sticker on it. Faculties/staff and students can purchase the stickers from admin dept by paying Rs.10. All students must abide by the general and special rules made by the college authorities from time to time in regard to their conduct and studies. Smoking, chewing tobacco, gutka, pan, masala etc. is strictly prohibited in the campus. Any faculty/staff & students found smoking, chewing tobacco, gutka, pan, masala etc. will face disciplinary action. Help us in keeping the campus green and clean. Wearing of helmet is advisable for all bike riders in their own interest. Students Speak: • “We are enjoying each day at SRMCEM, but we have also geared up for placements. Let Competition be afraid of us"- Aditya Vikram Birla Our students had justified these motivational quotes, Last month even during the spine chilling winter; our students were found busy with their text books, and no points for guessing that they had their semester examinations. It seems that they were unstoppable, such a strong committed is usually seen only during examinations. It is necessary for every student to adhere such behavior in their daily lives. If they want to become a diamond with brilliance then they must exhibit more positive attitude and achieve excellence. . HAPPY READING
