EASTER Story & EGG HUNT
Join us in Hyson Hall on Saturday, March
28th at 1 pm, to make an Easter craft and
hear the Easter story! We will then have
an Easter Egg hunt for ages 2-11. All
are welcome, All are welcome, All are
welcome! Invite your neighbors, friends
and family!
At Trinity we want all of our disciples to be
aware of their spiritual gifts in order that
they may better serve God in their daily life
by doing those activities for which they are
gifted. There is nothing worse than to be
asked to do something for which you have
no interest or ability. We are not looking for
warm bodies to fill church slots. We want to
help you discover your unique set of gifts,
and then provide occasions and resources
for you to use those gifts in God's world.
Please complete Trinity's Spiritual Gift
Discovery tool on our website, trinitylansdale.com, in order to discover your gifts and
get connected to the right ministry.
Join us on Sunday, March 15, 9:30 am in
Social Hall as we explore the results of your
Spiritual Gifts Discovery. Vicki Seal, Director
for Spiritual Gifts and her team will be there
to help you better understand the results of
your survey.

LENTEN WORLD HUNGER APPEAL
During this Lenten season, the Social
Ministry Committee is encouraging our
congregation to participate in the Lenten
World Hunger Appeal. As caring Christians
our ultimate goal is to end local and world
hunger. You can do your part by using either
one of the special fund envelopes mailed to
your home or an ELCA World Hunger Appeal
envelope to make your donations. Lenten
World Hunger packets are available at the
exits of the sanctuary. Please take one and
read the information inside. In addition
please consider these other ways that you
can make a difference for a hungry world:

Each week of Lent, change to a lowcost simple meal instead of a full meal or
eating out, and use the cost savings as a
donation to this appeal
 Donate canned goods to our monthly
food cupboard drive
 Sponsor our students participating in
their 30 hour famine
 Volunteer at our F.E.A.S.T. program
 Make a dinner for our Code Blue Shelter
 Encourage and support our Sunday
Church School children in their canned
food drive
 Join an advocacy group such as Bread
for the World at www.bread.org
 Find out where the food pantry in your
community is located and get involved
 Remember the hungry and poor in your
prayers
Through our giving and caring, through
our advocacy and action, we can make a
life-saving difference for the hungry. Thank
you for supporting this appeal!

In January, the Lutheran Theological
Seminary at Philadelphia sponsored a travel
seminar to El Salvador.
The visiting seminarians learned of the tragic
history of the Salvadoran people, the great
hope that remains, and gained a new
perspective on their own faith and lives.
Richard Bergen will share and present the
history of El Salvador, the life of Archbishop
Oscar Romero (recently declared a martyr by
Pope Francis), the story of The Subversive
Cross, and the works of two Christian based
communities that the group visited.

We Need Your Support… Do You Need Ours?
We are celebrating our 24th Anniversary! The Trinity Endowment
Fund was established in 1991 to provide a source of income to
support special projects and ministries of the Church that are
not included in the annual budget.
The Endowment Administration Committee manages the Trinity Endowment Fund,
including investment, with the assistance of professional advisors. Annual distribution from the
Endowment Fund is recommended by the Finance Committee and approved by the Congregation Council. Once the distribution amount is approved, it is divided equally among five mission
areas: Capital Improvements, Scholarships, Local Outreach, Global Outreach and Discretionary.
The Endowment Program Committee is responsible for reviewing requests and recommending
to Church Council the funding of the ministry or project requested. All committees and members
of Trinity may make proposals for the use of the funds. There have been 140 requests approved
since 2005 when a numbering system was established.
If you would like to support Trinity’s Endowment Fund…
you can do this through various options…
 Cash gifts are always welcome
 Gifts at the annual All Saints Appeal
 Bequests in wills
 Memorial and Honorarium remembrances
 Assignment of Life Insurance
 Transfer of property such as stocks, bonds and real estate
 Charitable trusts and gift annuities. (With a trust the donor transfers assets that are
used to provide income to the donor during their life, with the remainder going to the
church upon the death of the last surviving beneficiary).
If you would like to apply for an endowment distribution or wish to contribute to the Endowment
Fund, please contact one of the pastors or call the church office for additional information.
If you need more information, or would like to
make an appointment to
visit the school, please call

Ireland, he successfully served as a bishop and missionary there.
Thursday, March 19-Joseph, Guardian of Jesus
Though the Bible tells us little about the husband of Jesus' mother Mary, we know that he was a
carpenter or builder by trade. He is also shown as being devoted both to God and to Mary and
Jesus. It is assumed that he died before Jesus became an adult.
Saturday, March 21-Thomas Cranmer, Bishop of Canterbury, martyr, died 1556
Cranmer's lasting achievement is contributing to and overseeing the creation of the Book of
Common Prayer, which remains (in revised form) the worship book of the Anglican Communion.
He was burned at the stake under Queen Mary for his support of the Protestant Reformation.
Sunday, March 22-Jonathan Edwards, teacher, missionary to American Indians, died 1758
A Puritan minister in Connecticut, Edwards is remembered as being a great preacher. Though
his most famous sermon talks at length about hell, he was more concerned with God's love. He
served both as missionary to the Housatonic people in Massachusetts, and as president of the
future Princeton University.

Grief Support – Don’t Suffer Alone
If you have experienced the death of a spouse or loved
one, are you in need of a special support group?
Trinity is presenting Grief Support, a seminar and
support group for people experiencing pain and loneliness after the death of a loved one. We will talk about
what to expect as you grieve. Grieving is hard work.
It helps to know that you are not alone on your journey
through grief. We were unable to have the Grief
Support program in October because we did not have
enough people sign up. We are planning to try again
in April. Grief Support will begin on Tuesday, April 7,
2015 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. We will meet every
Tuesday night in April and May. If you are interested in
this group, please contact Pastor Lutz at 215-368-1710
or Judy Frankel at 215-855-3212. There is a
registration fee of $25.00 with aid available.
The registration fee is due when you register.
