Almighty God, you have given us many blessings and trusted us with many opportunities to
serve you. We are grateful to be your people and are anxious to discern your will for our lives.
But we must confess, O Lord, that we have not been nearly as hospitable or generous toward
you and others as you are toward us. We have not been good stewards of all that you have
given to our care. Forgive us, Lord, and challenge us to exercise better stewardship of your

CHRISTMAS TEA: Put the Christmas Tea on your calendar! Thursday, December 11 at
2:00 p.m. the PW Christmas Tea will feature a music program provided by Tom Bridges and
Andrew Hiler as well as fellowship and a lovely tea. Cost will be $6 and reservations will
begin later this month. Each table will have a center decoration created by volunteers.
Seeing all the different table decorations is a highlight of the tea. All Trinity women and
their guests are invited to join us for a celebration of the season.

HELP FOR THE HOMELESS: You will have the opportunity to help the homeless youth
of Henderson County again this year at the PW’s Christmas Tea. We will be accepting your
contribution of unused and unopened personal grooming items such as soap, shampoo,
conditioner, deodorant, hair spray, toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, brushes, body lotion,
shaving creme, after shave lotion, and razors. It would help us if you could place your items
in a ziplock bag. Or, you may choose to make a donation. If so, please make your check
payable to TCPW and designate homeless youth on the item line. Cash should be placed in
an envelope and marked Homeless Youth. The support from Trinity has been fantastic in
past years. We appreciate all you have given to, and your concern for, the homeless youth

FEED THE KIDS: Feed the Kids need more prep cooks. If you are interested in helping

EVENTS YOU WILL WANT TO PUT ON YOUR CALENDAR: On Sunday,
November 23, the annual HCCU sponsored Thanksgiving service will be held at First
United Methodist Church at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Mark will be preaching. And, on Sunday,
November 30, the Messiah “Sing” will be held at Trinity at 3:00 p.m. If you will be
participating, please arrive at 2:00 and bring your own music and paper clips.
BRING A CAN WHEN YOU CAN: It’s that time - I.A.M. needs Thanksgiving fixins’.
On the list is hams, turkeys, turkey breasts, chickens, instant mashed potatoes, pie fillings,
pie crusts, cake mixes, cranberry sauce, stuffing mix, canned yams and peas. Local Missions
Ministry will deliver the food contributions. Of course any non-perishable food and personal
hygiene items are always welcomed. Monetary donations are also appreciated. Clothing,
linens, etc., may be taken directly to I.A.M.
JAZZ VESPERS RETURNS: Jazz Vespers returns on Thursday evening, November 20,
at 7:00 p.m. with music provided by the talented pianist and vocalist Rockell Scott, along
with her trio featuring bassist Shannon Hoover and drummer Phill Bronson. Join us for
another exploration of spiritual contemplation through prayer and silence, light and shadow,
and the poignant rhythms of jazz music.
APOCALYPSE? NOW? Continuing next Sunday, November 16, during the Learning
Hour (9:45-10:45), Dwight Christenbury is leading a special Lecture & Response series on
the book of Revelation and other apocalyptic literature of the Bible. There’s a lot of crazy
and disturbing stuff going on in the world today; can any of it be located in biblical
prophecies - or is there a better way of interpreting Revelation?
FEEDING THE FLOCK: Trinity Food Care is a deacon-directed program in which
members of Trinity are invited to provide short-term assistance to Trinity friends during
illness or after surgery. A supply of frozen entrees and soups are prepared by volunteers in
our congregation and are kept in the church kitchen. If you are willing to be a cook, please
sign up on the sign up sheet in the narthex. When the freezer needs to be re-supplied, you
will be called to see if it is a convenient time for you to prepare a meal. If you have any
questions about the program, call Barbara Nichols at 693-4374 or Jane Presseau at 698-4317.
You will receive written step-by-step directions. The deacons thank you for your gracious
help in making this vital program possible. Your meal will be a culinary hug!
