Monte Cristo Sandwich
By Rita~
Ingredients:
Servings:
4
8 slices bread (I use challah)
A great brunch item! One of my husbands favorite
filling, baked, french toast style, sandwiches filled
with cheese, ham, turkey & mustard. Raspberry
preserves is a must for him. Could be eaten for
breakfast, lunch or dinner. This is a LESSER FAT
Monte Cristo recipe being baked and not fried full
of flavor! I also like to buy the low salt cold cuts or
use fresh baked turkey leftovers sliced thin.
4 teaspoons honey dijon mustard

I made this today and it was my first time eating a Monte
Cristo. It was very good. I didn't have any raspberry preserves,
so I dipped it in boysenberry syrup. I don't normally like
sweet/savory combinations or things like bacon dipped in syrup,
but it was very good. Will definitely make again!

Zwilling J.A. Henckels Ham
Slicer
These were really good, but I do think the next time I make
them i will just use the stovetop and a buttersprayed pan with a
lid. We had never tried cristo's before, so at first was very
sceptical, but the more we ate the more we enjoyed, and it
definatley needs the raspberry jelly, its what really makes it
good. Thanks for posting!

Great recipe! I made mostly as directed -- used only ham, and
dipped it in some warmed up syrup instead of the preserves. I
think I'll try the preserves next time though. Very tasty and a fun
way to mix up the breakfast routine! Thanks so much for
posting!

Fresh Tasting StarKist Tuna Recipe!
Great sandwich. Loved this but would not pour the remaining
egg mixture onto the pan, as it burned. Only put it on the
StarKist.com
sandwich itself. It was crispy on the outside and soft inside. I
only had strawberry jam so used that. Loved this.

Yum, yum, yum! Rather than dipping our sandwiches, I
sometimes spread the jam inside before cooking to avoid over
consumption, lol. Thank you so much; great recipe!

I recently tried this type of sandwich at a small town restaurant
and really enjoyed it! and this recipe meet my expectations!
Whoever came up with the idea of confectioners sugar and
raspberry preserves on a regular turkey sandwich is a genius!
This has to be my favorite sandwich! I will be making this again!

The flavors were all there, but the technique was somehow
lacking. This recipe is just not designed for oven preparation.
The batter glued my sandwiches to the baking sheet, and
although I did get them off, it detracted from the presentation
and I don't believe cut down that much fat as opposed to the
simplicity of frying. Next time I may use this recipe but I'll just
go with the old griddle.

I really don't have anything bad to say about these! They are
delicious, and baking them is such a great idea. I have already
made these twice and plan on making them a lot more in the
future. Thanks for posting!

This is SUCH a great recipe. I've made it several times already.
I've even made it for a bunch of teen aged boys - who now
request them to be made again! SO much better than you'd
think that they would be!

These were GREAT even though my daughter forgot to grease
the pan and they got all stuck and looked like something the
dog dragged in the flavour was wonderful. Served them with
broccoli soup for an excellent dinner. I'm a pretty fussy taster so
am happy to give this 5 stars.
