Nineteen new Volunteer CASA Child Advocates were sworn in at a ceremony held March
17 at the Adams County Justice Center. Among the new volunteers are: Daniell Bartolo,
Dianna Breedlove, and Michaela Muniz of Brighton, and DeAnna Hackenberg of
Henderson. CASA officials will be present at 11:30 a.m. today, at AMC Theaters in the
Orchard Town Center, to announce the regional proclamation of April as Child Abuse

Funeral notices
Marie Cler, 90, of Brighton, died March 25. She was
born to Henry and Louise (Wegele) Gleim in Fresno,
Calif. She married Henry “Hank” Cler in 1944. She
worked at Samsonite for many years, then work in food
service for School District 27J for 12 years, retiring in
1992. Survivors include her son, Don (Sandi) Cler of
Fort Lupton; sister Millie (Delvin) Otto of Arkansas; sister-in-law Dorothy Roth of Brighton; five grandchildren;
12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Hank; daughter, Barbara Funery; and son, Junior Cler.
Visitation, 6-8 p.m. Monday at Tabor-Rice Funeral
Home. Funeral service, 11 a.m. Tuesday at Zion
Congregational Church. Interment will follow at Elmwood
