This will be a non-uniform day, and parents are welcome to join us on the field from 12pm. IMPORTANT – if your child did NOT order a school packed lunch from the kitchen yesterday, they must bring a picnic lunch on the day. If parents are not able to join us, you may wish your child to have a small amount of money to spend later in the afternoon during the Fayre. Purses MUST be named and handed to the class teacher in the morning for safekeeping. Schedule of Events 11:45am Defibrillator At Tuesday’s assembly the school was donated a defibrillator by the Lloyds bank team in Woodley. It was through their links with our governor, Mr Holloway, the bank’s charity work and their association with Arrhythmia Alliance that the school received the lifesaving device. At the same assembly, the bank’s charity fund received £300 from the school as a contribution to the cost of the defibrillator. The donation came from the school’s success at the Green park challenge; a sum given to Aldryngton for being the top placed primary school! Following the presentation many staff members were trained in the defibrillator’s use. We would like to thank the staff at the Woodley branch of Lloyd’s bank for their support as such first aid items are expensive. We hope never to have to use it of course, but feel safer in the knowledge that we now have one should we need it. Blue tit family Just in time for the half term week, the blue tit family vacated their nest box, taking their first flight at about 10am on Saturday 23rd May. Before their departure, Mrs Stewart’s eco-nature club monitored the number of parent visits to the nest box and were amazed at how many visits were taking place per day. The group’s rough calculations estimated the parents would visit the box about 3,600 times per week !
