Sew with right sides together unless otherwise stated.

before starting this project. This pattern requires a basic knowledge
of quilting technique and terminology. The quilt and block diagrams
portrayed are virtual images. The layout and look of your project may
differ when using actual fabric.
One of the blocks has six different Half Square Triangles. For this block
you will need to draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong
side of 6 cream wallpaper 2½” squares. Place the cream wallpaper 2½”
squares on top of 6 assorted print 2½” squares. Sew ¼” on either side
of the drawn line. Cut on line to make 2 Half Square Triangles. Press. Trim
the Half Square Triangles to 2” square. Repeat to make 12 Half Square
Triangles (6 of the Half Square Triangles will not be used).
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
1 To Norway with Love Rolie Polie (RP-3880-21)
1¼ yards (1.15 m) cream main (C3880 Cream)
Optional: 1¾ yards (1.65 m) cream main to match repeat
1 yard (95 cm) cream wallpaper (C3886 Cream)
¼ yard (25 cm) pink motif (C3883 Pink)
5/8 yard (60 cm) green flowers (C3881 Green)
Binding 5/8 yard (60 cm)
Backing 3 1/8 yards (2.9 m)
Half Square Triangle
Sew 3 Half Square Triangles together to create Unit A.
Unit A
CUTTING REQUIREMENTS
Please read instructions first before cutting. Seam allowances vary so
measure through the center of the quilt before cutting border pieces.
Rolie Polie
Cut 2½” x 2½” squares in the corresponding number from the following
assorted print 2½” strips:
3–blue main, 3–pink main, 4–blue flowers, 4–pink flowers
1–green flowers, 3–brown diamond, 3–cream diamond
3–green diamond, 4–green motif, 4–blue rose, 3–green rose
3–pink rose, 3–cream stripe, 3–pink stripe, 3-red stripe, 4–pink wallpaper
Cream Wallpaper
Cut 4 strips 2½” x WOF. Cut the strips into 51 squares 2½” x 2½”.
Cut 1 strip 2 3/8” x WOF. Cut the strip into 16 squares 2 3/8” x 2 3/8”. Cut
each square once diagonally to make 32 small triangles.
Cut 2 strips 3½” x WOF. Cut the strips into 32 rectangles 2” x 3½”.
Cut 1 strip 3 7/8” x WOF. Cut the strip into 8 squares 3 7/8” x 3 7/8”. Cut
each square once diagonally to make 16 large triangles.
Cut 2 strips 2½” x WOF. Cut the strips into 25 squares 2½” x 2½” for posts.
Assorted Prints
Cut 5 strips 8” x WOF from cream main for border
Cut 7 strips 2½” x WOF from green flowers. Cut the strips into 40
rectangles 2½” x 6½” for sashing.
Cut 1 strip 3 7/8” x WOF from pink motif. Cut the strip into 8 squares
3 7/8” x 3 7/8”. Cut each square once diagonally to make 16 large triangles.
Cut 1 strip 2 3/8” x WOF from pink motif. Cut the strip into 16 squares 2
3/8” x 2 3/8”. Cut each square once diagonally to make 32 small triangles.
Sew 2 Half Square Triangles and 1 cream wallpaper small triangle together
to create Unit B.
Unit B
Sew 1 Half Square Triangle and 1 cream wallpaper small triangle together
to create Unit C.
Unit C
Sew Unit A, Unit B, and Unit C together to create Unit D.
Unit D
Sew a pink motif large triangle to Unit D to create the Basket Center.
QUILT ASSEMBLY
Refer to quilt photo for placement of fabrics.
Basket Center
Pretty Baskets Block
These instructions are to make 1 block. Refer to the quilt photo for fabric
placement. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong
side of 3 cream wallpaper 2½” squares. Place the cream wallpaper 2½”
Sew a pink motif small triangle to cream wallpaper 2” x 3½” rectangle to
create Unit F. Sew another pink motif small triangle to cream wallpaper
2” x 3½” rectangle to create Unit G. Sew a Unit F and Unit G to each side
of the Basket Center to create Unit H.

Sew a cream wallpaper large triangle to Unit H to complete the Pretty
Baskets Block. Repeat to make 16 Basket Blocks.
Pretty Baskets Block
Posts and Sashing
Refer to quilt photo for post and sashing placement. Sew a cream
wallpaper 2½” square to a green flowers 2½ x 6½” rectangle. Repeat
to make a row with 5 square posts and 4 sashing rectangles. Make 5
rows labeled A.
Sashing and Blocks
Refer to quilt photo for sashing and block placement. Sew a green
flowers 2½ x 6½” rectangle to a Pretty Baskets Block. Repeat to make
a row with 5 sashing rectangles and 4 blocks. Make 4 rows labeled B.
Quilt Center Assembly
See quilt photo for row placement. Lay out rows A and B. Sew rows
together to complete the center of the quilt.
Borders
Seam allowances vary so measure through the center of the quilt
before cutting border pieces. Sew border strips together end to end if
necessary to get the length needed. Sew side borders first.
Border 1
Side borders should be 34½”. Top and bottom borders should be
49½”.
Finish quilt by layering the quilt top, batting, and back. Bind with your
favorite Riley Blake fabric from the To Norway with Love Collection.
