Dear Parents/Guardians:
Enclosed is a list of your student’s course requests for the 2015-2016 school year. Please review this list carefully for accuracy.
Students who are taking AP, Pre-AP, and/or other courses with summer assignments are responsible for obtaining the
appropriate assignment prior to the end of school. Summer assignments will be distributed in class before the end of the year
and posted on the school website. Questions regarding special programs should be directed to the program coordinator.
The following courses have been canceled for the 2015-2016 school year due to staffing, budget, and/or low enrollment:
Foundations of Technology and Intro to Speech Communication. Many elective courses are full for the 2015-2016 school year.
As determinations are made regarding the cancellation of under-enrolled courses and the capping of enrollment in oversubscribed courses, your student’s requests may need to be modified. In these situations, we will attempt to use your student’s
alternate requests, if possible. Determinations regarding closed and canceled courses may impact our ability to honor changes
requested at this time.
If corrections are necessary or changes are desired, including level changes, please indicate on the enclosed course selection list
the course(s) to be added and/or dropped and return the list with parent/guardian signature to the Battlefield Counseling
Department by Monday, June 8, 2015. After this date, changes will be done only to resolve conflicts of classes or to facilitate
correct placement of students due to failure of a required course. Students may not request any new courses or level changes
after June 8, 2015. Please be advised that students are expected to remain in their AP and Pre-AP classes for the entire year.
In the past, planned class sizes and appropriate staffing have been negatively impacted by the large number of seniors
requesting a reduced course load after the master schedule was set. Rising seniors interested in having early release or late
arrival during the 2015-2016 school year must submit the appropriate paperwork to their counselor by June 8, 2015. Early
Release/Late Arrival contracts are available in the Counseling Center.
Please contact your student’s counselor at 571-261-4606 if you have any questions or concerns regarding his/her course
selections.
Sincerely,
Julie A. Byrne
Director of School Counseling
