BETHANY EAST
PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE
FOR SEPARATED & DIVORCED 45+
Hello Everyone!
I am so looking forward to seeing all your smiling
faces now that winter is finally over. Please give
support to all of our groups when you can as it is
needed to keep them active and growing; and also very
healthy for ourselves.
Cannot wait to enjoy the Spring and Summer with all
of you!
I smiled when I saw the first HINT of Spring in the
air! Looking around on a cool, April morning I wasn’t
sure what had made it finally decide to end its long
Winter’s sleep. Perhaps it had noticed that the ground
around it was no longer frozen. Perhaps it had felt the
warmth of the sunshine finally pushing the
temperatures into the seventies. Perhaps it had heard
the songs of the birds singing that Spring had arrived
and it was time for the world to awaken again. Perhaps
the roots of the trees had whispered to it that it was
now safe to come out and that their own limbs were
already budding.
Whatever the reason, it was a joy to see that Spring had
arrived. I know that soon all the Blue Bonnets,
Buttercups, Tulips, Daffodils, and Dandelions will be
sprouting up and growing to their fullest potential. I
know that soon the air will be full of Butterflies
dancing above them all. I know that soon there will be
growing grass and the trees will be awash in bright,
green leaves. We too are part of that creation; but
unlike the flowers in the field we have the ability to
bloom even when the world around us is cold, dark,
and harsh. We have the ability to share our beauty in
the face of ugliness, our joy in the face of fear, and our
love in the face of hate. We have the ability to make
every day feel like the first day of Spring.
May you bloom well today and always. May you shine
your light. May you share your love. May you be truly
alive in the glory of God’s creation. And may you
forever make your Heavenly Father smile.
Make it a great month!

SPIRITUAL REFLECTIONS
Forget the former things;
Do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Isaiah 43:30-10a NTV
Thank you, Lord, for this promise,
When I am discouraged and find myself
Looking backward instead of to the future,
Help me see the “new thing” you are doing in my life.
Amen

BETHANY is a Catholic organization that provides spiritual, social, and educational assistance to divorced or separated Christians
through peer-to-peer ministry.
BETHANY EAST has no formal membership or yearly fees. One need only attend the various functions to be a member. An
admission charge at our meeting and functions is necessary to help defray expenses. All of the events are meant to provide a friendly,
non-stressful, non-threatening, non-competitive atmosphere. You can be with others of separation or divorce. No event requires a date.
Events are planned with the single person in mind. Reservations are necessary for some events and deadlines will be strictly adhered
to. The spiritual dimension of the group does not come from the Spiritual Committees. It is God shining out in each one and sharing
Himself clearly in the caring each shows for the others, as well as the generous giving and sharing of themselves. In helping others, we
best help ourselves.
BOARD MEETING to be held on scheduled days to be announced.
