Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Divine Mercy Sunday: This Sunday, the Second Sunday of
Easter, we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday. Please join us
for Adoration and Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament
in the Church after the 10:30 a.m. Mass until 3:00 p.m. At
3:00 p.m., we will have Divine Mercy Devotions. Further
details are in the bulletin.
First Communion Sunday: Next Sunday, April 19th, we
will celebrate First Communion at 12:30 p.m. Please keep
our First Communicants in your prayers.
Thanks! A special thanks to all who helped to make the
celebration of Holy Week and the Easter Triduum so
wonderful. In particular, I wish to thank all members of the
RCIA Team for their hard work in preparing our candidates
and catechumens. Thanks to Deacon Patrick, Karen Addy,
all of the liturgical ministers and servers whose service so
enriched our prayer. Thanks to the many parishioners who
responded to my invitation to make Holy Week holy by
attending the services of Holy Week. Thanks to Rick Snoor
and all the members of music ministry for lifting our hearts
and minds to God through the beauty of sacred music.
Welcome! This week, we welcome among our ranks the
RCIA class of 2015. For almost one year they have been
preparing to join the Church and did so at the Easter Vigil
last weekend. Our Church is enriched by their gifts, their
faith, their enthusiasm, their courage. Please join me in
welcoming recently initiated brothers and sisters in Christ
by introducing yourself and inviting them to participate in
the life of the parish.

The Christian community described in Acts understood and
practiced total stewardship. St. Paul reports that the believers
did not claim anything as their own, but held everything in
common, and distributed to each whatever was needed.

Blessed Sacrament School Crusader News
Blessed Sacrament School honored Crusaders of the Month
last Thursday who displayed the virtue of gratitude for the month
of March. We are helping our students and families understand
the way that God wants us to treat each other. We are thankful
that we have students who care about each other and for our
teachers and staff who care about our students and families.
The Little Wave Runners Fitness Club will begin next week.
Come and join the fun and learn how to stay fit through exercise.
The club is open to grades 3-6.
Our second grade students will receive their First Holy
Communion next Sunday, April 19th. The potluck and practice
for First Communion will be next week for students and families.
There will also be a retreat for the First Communion class at
the school. Congratulations to our students!

The Vatican Intentions for the month of April
• Ecology and Justice. That governments may foster the
protection of creation and the just distribution of natural
resources.
• Hope for the Sick. That the Risen Lord may fill with hope the
hearts of those who are being tested by pain and sickness.
• Father Wilson’s Intention. That those suffering from any
form of addiction, including addictions to drugs, alcohol,
and pornography, would experience healing and freedom.

Pledges for the Restoration Campaign
Once we complete the capital campaign for the restoration of
our Church, we will begin collection of pledges in May. More
information will be in upcoming bulletins.
Divine Mercy Sunday is April 12th. Join us for Eucharistic
Adoration after the 10:30 a.m. Mass until 3:00 p.m. Reconciliation
is 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m., and the Divine Mercy Chaplet with
Benediction is 3:00 p.m. Everyone is invited and encouraged
to come, sit in Adoration, then attend this very beautiful and
moving devotion.

St. Francis de Sales Church is
holding a Spring/Summer Clothing
Drive to benefit St. Francis Outreach
Center in McArthur, Ohio, from
Friday, April 24th-Sunday, April 26th. Small appliances,
bedding, linens, toys and other small household items are also
appreciated. Volunteers will collect donations at the drive-thru/
drop-off in the parking lot behind St. Francis Church at the

St. Francis de Sales Church Lamy Center (40 Granville Street)

Bridges Out of Poverty
From Isaiah to Jesus, we have been told to care for the poor
among us. The challenge for us today is how to address poverty
and the issues that have contributed to generational poverty.
St. Vincent de Paul conferences from several local churches
will host a series of videos called “Bridges Out of Poverty.” A
light supper will be served at each session.

General Trip Information for trips in the USA
Traveling by Bus




We use an air-conditioned/heated luxury bus throughout the entire trip.
The bus will be leaving from the parking lot of your local church, where the entire group will meet.
The time of departure will be communicated to all passengers individually in your final packet.
Please arrive 30 minutes before departure time. You will forfeit your trip if you arrive after the bus
has departed.
Staying In Touch
Each traveler will receive a final packet we suggest you print up 2 copies. (One for you & one for
your family at home)
 The trip is designed so that you and your family in the USA are always able to contact the tour guide
during the trip.
 A Tour Guide will meet you at the airport (if you are flying) or at the hotel if you are traveling by
bus. The tour guide will remain with the group until you are safely returned to your departure
point.

Dress Code



Dress is casual and comfortable. It is a vacation, relax and enjoy.
Bring comfortable walking shoes.
Most of the hotels we use have a pool or a Jacuzzi, bring a bathing suit with you.
Packing and Carry-on

Pack your medicine and valuables, in a small bag that you keep with you on the bus.
Safety

Safety is our priority. As we tour each site, every passenger is always accounted for: there is always
a count of passengers before and after touring each site. We never leave anyone behind!
Hotels

We use solely 4 and 5 star hotels.
Lots of Walking?

Even though we have our own private bus, some sites do require some walking. Bring comfortable
shoes (dress shoes are not necessary at all). We suggest you start walking at least 2 months before
you’re trip so your ready to tour! A wheelchair can be provided if you are traveling with a companion who is able to push you. Please remember that some sites are unavailable by wheelchair.

Krakow WYD 2016
World Youth Day (WYD) is a worldwide celebration of young

Our Campaign – Our Opportunity
Campaign Climbs to $825,350!
Thanks to the generous spirit of our faithful parishioners
– and the exceptional efforts of our volunteer corps – we have
now reached this wonderful new total in our capital campaign!
With the sacrifice of each parish household, we have not
only achieved this level, but we can push on with confidence
to our challenge goal of $1,000,000!
Comprehensive Organ Rebuild
With our challenge goal now in sight, we can anticipate a
comprehensive rebuild of our church organ. Thus, instead of
a minimal repair, we can reconstruct a better, more reliable
instrument. This will also free up our beautiful window for
better visibility and create additional space for our choir. We
need, of course, the fullest measure of participation from each
parish family as we head down the stretch of our campaign to
achieve this noble aim.
