TIP job coaches work on-site with interns to: Reinforce on-the-job training Encourage you to ask for any reasonable accommodations you need At BCIL we know that finding a job can be an overwhelming prospect, especially if you have never had a job before or need reasonable accommodations. We also know that youth with disabilities want jobs as much as their non-disabled peers do. The Transition Internship Program (TIP) is designed to help interns learn to identify their work-related needs and determine the best ways to fulfill them. INTERN WAGES All TIP interns are paid through the Boston Center for Independent Living at a rate of $10/hour. APPLICATION DEADLINES: Completed applications must be received by May 1st, 2015. Please Note: Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted. PROGRAM START DATES: Completed applications for the TIP program must be received by Friday May 1st, 2015. All potential interns who complete an application can expect an interview with TIP staff. This will determine if they are invited to interview at one of our worksites. Worksites will make the final hiring decisions. Interns will work up to twenty hours per week, including a three-hour employment skills workshop held at the BCIL office every Friday. At the end of the program, interns will have gained valuable work skills, knowledge about their own abilities, and an understanding of the way the employment world works. Program dates are to be determined in accordance with the Boston Public Schools’ 2015 schedule.
